We had the good fortune of connecting with Diego Imperiale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diego, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I believe my upbringing has had a tremendous impact on who I am today. I haven been brought up in city where things are not really easy. There’s a lot of injustice and specially in the arts, it is very difficult to make yourself seen while overcoming the adversities that take place. I feel I lost a lot of precious time in the early days of my career, being misguided by poor educators. There’s a lot of institutions that sell things they cannot provide, and this is an every day thing in a place where the one that deceives has better results than the honest one. It makes me sad that this keeps happening more than ever, but I am happy that I worked a great deal to get over all the nonsense, have successful projects and also be able to finally apply and receive my talent work visa for what I consider one of the best spots in the world. This has made me stronger against anything that may present and has helped me understand a little bit of how this universe functions. I once heard in a movie “no one gives it to you, you have to take it” I think it was delivered by the great Jack Nicholson, that is a very accurate phrase for sure.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Definitely not easy. I think the first thing that got me to where I am today is the ability to keep learning and being a forever learner in everything. I never stopped wanting to become better, luckily this wasn’t something I would give up quickly. I heard so many times the words “not this time”, that I should’ve given up long ago, and I still get them! When I say I’m a forever learner I don’t mean just the music or the acting, I mean life. I believe spirituality, meditation, being in connection with my higher self and my guides, has set me apart from others, I have learned along the way success has nothing to do with trying, there’s people that become rich and famous without actually trying or having any talents, this is the world today, and maybe has been for a little while more than we think. There’s folks with that destiny written and folks with a destiny to re-write. In my case I am the latter one. I have worked too much for my voice to be where it is today, and I assure you, it was nothing like this when I started. In terms of living, I was also a lost soul with no knowing of the laws of the Universe and how to get things in order in my life. However AND fortunately, I have been this person that keeps searching and I have come across some beautiful wisdom that has helped me achieve what I thought was impossible. My connection to finding out there’s a world hidden within our own, has helped me with finding my actors inside, the spirits that help me become someone else when I get the chance to. An incredible journey of living someone else’s life for a period of time, even if it’s a short moment on camera, I must deliver with love and true existence. I am definitely proud of having come this far, to get over myself by being here where I have dreamt for so long, and excited at the countless possibilities that may be ahead. I want to show the world what I’m about, and if I can make it, inspire some along the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I usually enjoy spots with tables outside, like the spots on Lincoln Rd. Miami’s weather is so wonderful that I wouldn’t take a friend to spend it inside with air conditioning. The beach in the summertime with the warm water and feeding the seagulls that fly around you while you stand in the beautiful sand. Speaking about animals, If in season, it’s also a nice experience to catch a glimpse of the sea turtles being born at night on the beach as well. There’s also a cool vibe in Wynwood where you can meet interesting people, food, artists, and cool shops around during the day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom is definitely the one that deserves the credit in my story. She has sacrificed so much for me since I was born. From selling old jewelry for me to be able to keep studying english when I was a kid to coming to every show, supporting each one of my ideas and finally being alright with me leaving home to fulfill my dream and wishing me all the success that I can get. I owe it all to her.
