We had the good fortune of connecting with Regine Jillea Dawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Regine Jillea, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because life is too short to do anything else. I remember when I was younger, the first time I watched the “Pon De Replay” video with Rihanna. I remember when she released Umbrella. I also remember when she continued to release albums consecutively year after year. And then, I see where she is now. She’s the artist that taught me there is something spectacular about a “stick-with-it-ness”. In the end, it all pays off, literally.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been in business for over a year with my major clothing label, Hovsewife. The label provides sustainable tops and tees that keep our customers in tip top shape! For now, I prefer to provide a comfortable and versatile product line. I want to take my customers on a ride and I want them to grow with me, so they should always be excited for what’s next.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, of course, my mother deserves a shoutout. As I’ve grown older, I see how everything I do has a sprinkle of her spice, especially aesthetics. I’ve always loved her style and I appreciate how she let me explore my own. She has been so supportive of my creative journey and I couldn’t ask for a better mother, mentor, and true friend.
