We had the good fortune of connecting with The Young CEO Project Podcast and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Young CEO Project, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of starting The Young CEO Project emerged from recognizing the need for greater diversity in leadership roles, particularly among young black entrepreneurs and women. We observed that many talented individuals within these communities faced systemic barriers and lacked access to resources and opportunities. We wanted to create a platform that not only celebrated their achievements but also provided support, guidance, and recognition for their entrepreneurial endeavors.

At The Young CEO Project, we focus on several key areas. Firstly, we provide resources and mentorship programs in business management, finance, and business administration.
Secondly, we understand businesses’ unique challenges in this sector and provide tailored solutions for smooth transitions, logistics, and efficient operations. Furthermore, we are dedicated to promoting holistic well-being and mental health awareness. We believe that a healthy mind is crucial for sustained success. Our organization actively supports mental health initiatives, provides resources, and fosters an environment where open discussions about mental well-being are encouraged.
Additionally, we emphasize the importance of investing and volunteering in our communities. We encourage our members to develop a sense of social responsibility by participating in volunteer activities and giving back to the neighborhoods that have shaped them. Through these experiences, our members not only make a positive impact but also enhance their leadership skills and expand their networks.

What should our readers know about your business?
What we think sets us apart from other businesses is that we are encouraging entrepreneurship & breaking down how to be a successful business owner. We got to where we are today by being disciplined, consistent, & holding each other accountable. It was not easy, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it lol. The lessons we have learned is even though you feel like you are doing enough, you can always do more! We want the world to know that you can achieve anything you put your mind to as long as you believe in yourself while staying consistent & discipline.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As for recommendations on places to eat or things to do, we believe in supporting local businesses and exploring diverse cuisines. Encouraging readers to explore and try new restaurants is a great way to experience different cultures and support local entrepreneurs. Regarding places to visit, we encourage readers to seek out historical landmarks, museums, or cultural centers. These places often provide valuable insights into the rich history and heritage. Additionally, attending community events, festivals, and art exhibitions is an excellent way to connect with local talent and appreciate the diversity of artistic expression.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lastly, regarding credit and recognition, we believe it is essential to acknowledge the support and contributions of our community partners, mentors, and sponsors. They are crucial to our organization’s success and help us create meaningful opportunities for young black entrepreneurs and women. Without their guidance and support, The Young CEO Project would not be where it is today.

Overall, The Young CEO Project is committed to empowering young black entrepreneurs and women, advocating for mental health awareness, and fostering positive change in our communities. We strive to create a more inclusive and diverse entrepreneurial landscape where talent and potential are recognized and celebrated.
