We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Goss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristen, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Prior to having my own firm, I did not have balance. I worked a lot, spent limited time with my Husband and my then one toddler at the time, and I felt the stress of having to answer to someone else’s unrealistic expectations.

I chose to open my own practice in June of 2016 to be able to spend more time with my growing family, serve Clients in areas I am most passionate about, and find time for myself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from other Marital and Family Law Attorneys is my humble ability to listen to my clients’ interests, fears/concerns, and goals and help them choose a legal path to resolve their family matters the way they desire, whether it’s through the Collaborative Law Process, Uncontested route, family mediation path, or the litigation path. The team empowers the Clients by providing them with legal clarity that aligns with their value system.

At KWG, we maintain professionalism, civility, and skill to help our Clients navigate through some of the most traumatic times in their lives and come out on the other side in a much better state than when they began emotionally, legally, and financially.

I am the Co-Author of Civility Wins: Find Your Peace While Taming the Beasts, which is listed on Amazon.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The most fun place for me is somewhere that is not too cold and not too hot. A place where I can relax and meditate on the good things of life. I would eat the most fattening food on a patio, drinking a strawberry daiquiri. This place could be in the United States or in another country with a similar climate. The mood would be very chill and laid back. One of the most interesting places to check out would be a historical landmark that speaks volumes about the history of where I am.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to pay tribute to John and Martha Walker, my parents, who are living through me and my children, for their unconditional love, support, and guidance from birth to my early adulthood.

I would also like to thank my Husband, Marlon Goss, for pushing me to be a better person every day.

Finally, I would like to thank my three beautiful daughters for allowing me to experience first-hand what unconditional love is and who inspire me to be a positive business woman in hopes that my actions will be a continual driving force in their lives to be all they can be.
