We had the good fortune of connecting with kristen farrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi kristen, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
For 20 years we worked to create a successful luxury home building brand in the Hamptons, NYC and Florida. In 2018 I made the decision to leave to focus on family matters. It was a very difficult series of decisions but it was the right choice. After 5 years of staying under the radar, I’ve just re launched under my solo brand, Kristen Farrell & Co.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career as a lobbyist for companies like Kraft General Foods, Phillip Morris, Sunrise Assisted Living and Shurguard Self Storage. It was an incredible start to learn strategic skills, government relations and logistical planning, all of which factor in to real estate development and the building process. At the age of 26 I was running my own business in a male dominated business sector. Over 25 years later I am once again running my own company in a male dominated sector. I find being a female in this business is an asset as it earns me more respect.

I am excited to have launched 219 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack, a turn key 21k +/- square foot home in May, 2023. This project represents a culmination of my early career knowledge and my building career experience launched under our new brand, Kristen Farrell & Co. This home sits on 3 acres and has 4 structures: the main house at 17,000 + square feet, two restored barns at 1500 sq ft each and the pool at 1500 sq ft . The property includes a wellness center, pool, spa, tennis, 4 car garage, 9 bedrooms, 15 baths. All details are on our website, kristenfarrellco.com

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My ideal week in the hamptons would include: Day 1 : early am walk on the beach with my golden retriever Johnny. Stop at Armin and Judi Bakery in Bridgehampton for a cappucino and baked goods to go, some fruit from the local farm stand. Hop on the boat at Sag Harbor Yacht Club and head to Salt for lunch followed by a swim and to the Pridwin on Shelter Island for cocktails and sunset.

Day 2: Am tennis game in the back yard, stop at Hampton Coffee for all forms of coffee and breakfast and drive out to MTK for some beach time at Ditch Plains and a bike ride through Camp Hero. Take the E bikes to the Montaukette for late lunch and plan for dinner at Crow’s Nest!

Day 3: Gym workout at Core Dynamics in Water Mill, watch my daughter ride at Two Trees Farm and head to Sag harbor and Bridgehampton to peruse the shops for home items with a stop at Blue One for a sundress. Lunch at Dopo Ponte in Bridgehampton for my favorite beet salad with chicken.
Afternoon hammock nap and then head to Moby’s in East Hampton for dinner. Maybe a drink at the bar in Ponte on the drive back to Bridgehampton. Hopefully the kids have a fire going in the firepit when I get back home!

Other favorites….
wake boarding early am or end of the day leaving from Mill Creek Marina
buying fresh organic produce from Green Thumb market in Watermill
Bike road to ocean for the day
Ice cream on the dock at Olaf’s
Sunset wine and music at Wolffer Winery
Music at Stephen’ Talkhouse in Amagansett

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It takes a village to raise children (thanks Mom for all the moral support!) and it takes a team to launch a new brand. I am incredibly grateful to my son Joey who is an integrated design student at Parsons and has oversight of all the brand materials, to my daughter Kate who reminds me to be focused and fearless and to my son Jack who reminds me anything is possible. Flora Veitch who is our Director Of Operations brings fantastic market knowledge, organization and communication to all of our work and she is tireless. What we accomplish is quite something!
