Hi Dilara, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started FABRICCA driven by my lifelong passion for handcrafted accessory design and the belief that a hobby could become a venture. Inspired by my studies in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management masters degree and by utilizing discarded fabrics as the foundation of my designs, I aimed to contribute to a more responsible and conscious approach to fashion. I aimed to create environmentally friendly, sustainable, and original jewelry, that no one has seen before. Today, operating physically in 7 countries, including the United States, England, Dubai, Colombia, Morocco, Paris, and Turkey, I take pride in serving women around the world with 20 female employees and bringing to life 1000 pieces of sustainable special design products every month. FABRICCA’s motto, ‘Stylish in seconds,’ reflects our mission to empower women and make a positive global impact.

As the owner and head designer of FABRICCA, my career has been an incredible journey shaped by my passion for handcrafted accessory design and my dedication to sustainability and innovation. What sets FABRICCA apart is our commitment to using leftover fabrics to create unique, environmentally friendly, and sustainable jewelry, making a positive impact on both fashion and the planet.

I am most proud of how FABRICCA has grown from a simple hobby into a global brand, physically operating in 7 countries, including the United States, England, Dubai, Colombia, Morocco, Paris, and Turkey. Through our brand, we serve women around the world, offering them stylish, sustainable choices that empower them to express their individuality and make a difference with their fashion choices.

The journey to where I am today professionally was not easy, but overcoming challenges has been a vital part of my growth. As an entrepreneur, I faced obstacles in scaling the business, managing international operations, and ensuring consistent quality across our products. However, through perseverance, strategic planning, and learning from each challenge, I have steered FABRICCA towards success.

Along the way, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about the power of passion, purpose, and resilience. Staying true to my vision and values has been crucial in building a brand that resonates with customers globally. Embracing innovation, staying adaptable to market trends, and prioritizing sustainability have been key components of FABRICCA’s growth and impact.

My story is one of transformation, where a childhood passion for jewelry-making evolved into a purpose-driven brand that merges creativity, sustainability, and empowerment. I want the world to know that FABRICCA is not just a brand; it’s a movement towards a more conscious and responsible fashion industry. We aim to inspire individuals to embrace sustainable choices while celebrating their unique style, and through our journey, we hope to leave a lasting positive impact on the planet and the communities we serve.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During my best friend’s week-long visit to Miami, I would ensure an unforgettable experience, starting with a beachfront hotel in South Beach for sun-soaked relaxation and evening strolls along the lively Ocean Drive. The next day, we’d immerse ourselves in art and culture at Pérez Art Museum Miami and Wynwood Walls, where we’d marvel at captivating contemporary art and impressive street murals. Day three would be dedicated to exploring nature and wildlife with a trip to the Everglades National Park and a visit to Zoo Miami. The fourth day would revolve around shopping in the Design District and savoring diverse cuisines from food trucks. For adventure seekers, day five offers watersports and adrenaline-pumping activities in Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne. As the sun sets on day six, we’d experience Miami’s vibrant nightlife scene in Brickell, dancing at iconic nightclubs. On the final day, we’d bid farewell over a leisurely brunch at a chic spot, maybe even squeezing in a visit to the stunning Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Throughout the trip, I’d make sure to introduce my best friend to one of Miami’s top places, the captivating and ever-evolving Wynwood Walls, where they’d get a taste of the city’s thriving art scene and soak in the vibrant and creative atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family. They have been my unwavering foundation, standing by my side through thick and thin. Their love, encouragement, and belief in me have been the driving force behind my accomplishments. Their sacrifices and constant support have given me the strength to pursue my dreams, and I am eternally thankful for their presence in my life.

Next, I must extend my appreciation to my exceptional team. Together, we have shared triumphs and faced challenges as a united front. Their dedication, hard work, and camaraderie have made all the difference in achieving our collective goals. Each member brings unique strengths to the table, and our collaboration has been both inspiring and motivating. It’s through their talents and collaborative spirit that we’ve been able to accomplish remarkable feats.

Last but not least, I am indebted to my mentors. Their guidance and wisdom have been invaluable in shaping my skills, mindset, and outlook. Their unwavering belief in my potential has pushed me beyond my limits, encouraging me to explore uncharted territories and embrace growth. Their continuous support and belief in my abilities have been a guiding light in my journey, and I am deeply grateful for their influence on my personal and professional development.
