We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Chaffiotte & Danielle Ganter, co-founders of Curbside Confections and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara & Danielle, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We are best friends who started on this candy adventure in 2017 while planning Danielle’s wedding and falling short with finding the perfect after-party wedding idea. We wanted something that was different from a traditional wedding favor which would leave a lasting impression on guests long after the party ended.
We had always dreamed of one day owning our own company and knew right away that this was the perfect opportunity. Within three months we developed our business plan and bought a brand spanking new truck – custom designed and built and ready to go for our very first event in June 2017.
This journey has allowed us to meet some of the most amazing people! We love sharing life’s milestones, working alongside incredible not-for-profit organizations joining them in their cause, and corporations looking to celebrate their employees!
All right, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami for a week, I would ensure they had an unforgettable experience filled with vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, delicious food, and exciting nightlife. Some of the things we would do would be:
– visit Miami Beach to soak in the sun and enjoy the crystal-clear waters. We could rent beach chairs and umbrellas, relax, and grab tropical drinks.
– visit Wynwood Walls to see the street art
– visit the iconic Calle Ocho and enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine at Versailles or El Exquisito.
– head to the design district to explore the art galleries and do some shopping at our favorite boutiques.
– enjoy some of the many amazing restaurants like Casa Tua, or dine on the water with live music
– visit Nikki Beach
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our initial shout outs certainly will always be to our truest friends and families for all their support and encouragement to leave our careers as executives in healthcare to pursue making what began as a hobby, our focused passion. Each and every person in our families has shown their love and offered their own efforts to help us through these years. In these past six years, our clients have turned to friends. They have motivated our growth to where we are today. Our sincerest gratitude to each and everyone of our fans and followers. We wouldn’t have made it this far without you. This next venture into Miami goes to our friend, Dr. Frank C. In 2020, he made us question why we were still in healthcare and not focusing on our own business. Frank believed in us from New Jersey all the way to Florida!
