We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juan, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We started this journey already a while ago, since 2013 we are brewing. Back in Venezuela we did our first batch from the basement of my house “Coronarias” (this was the first brand we create back then) after a few batches we though about making it a small business while we were still in the university, providing special beers to restaurants and small liquor stores. By the en of 2013 we received a Bronce Medal fro one of our beers “Veronica IPA” , that probably motivate us even more to keep on the journey.
Daniel my partner build all the business plan and new concept for “Tripping Animals Brewing” and we totally join him for it, the four of us were more than happy to be part of something bigger. So by 2016 we got our lease, star building out the brewery, meanwhile we lived all together in the same house doing beers for small festivals we could attend.
Finally by the end of 2018 we did open our doors, and is already the fifth year of this amazing trip.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Tripping Animals Brewing is a family owned business, four families as founders. Chocron, Elorriaga, Montenegro and Torres. What set us apart from other is the passion we put everyday into our business, our culture and the way we do things, that translate in that we are family, we transmit and create a family environment for our employees, customers and other breweries and partners in the business.
It has been a trip with different type of challenges, we have overcome those working as a team, with our employees and family, keeping our minds in the objectives, looking to keep on growing everyday.
Teamwork is the best way to accomplish goals, celebrate every tiny goal achieved, reward in public, discuss the negative private, plan yourself ahead but go one day at a time.
We are a family owned business, of four families from Venezuela, incredible proud of being able to achieve our goals here in the US, and being so well received by the community.
