We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigale Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abigale, how does your business help the community?
As a therapist, my role impacts the community in various ways. I provide essential mental health support to individuals and families in our community; which can help people cope with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. I want to be a part of improved relationships within our community by working with individuals, couples, and families. I help them build healthier and more fulfilling relationships. Stronger, more stable relationships contribute to a more harmonious community. My specialties with couples include conflict resolution, communication, and infidelity repair work. The work helps reduce the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health issues. When people see their friends, family members, and neighbors benefiting from therapy, they may be more inclined to seek help themselves.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my business, Elevate Me Allison LLC after graduating from my Master’s program. It has been a blessing to see other future Clinicians draw interest and seek guidance from me. It has been a difficult journey as I am still contracted to work with another company while building my own. I think working and gaining experience through previous employers and current employers has helped me with the challenges I have faced on my own. I also love to ask questions and seek support from those who have been in the field for a longer time than I have. I think one of the lessons I am constantly learning, is to be okay with pivoting. The path may not always uncover or go as directly planned and that is ok. What would I want people to know about my brand? I started Elevate Me Allison LLC to aid those of a diverse community (i.e. neurodiversity or culturally). In terms of cultural diversity- I understand the complexities that can arise in multicultural or intercultural relationships. Whether it’s navigating cultural differences, dealing with identity issues, or addressing family expectations. In terms of neurodiversity- I have a deep understanding of the unique needs and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, helping them develop essential life skills, manage emotions, and build healthy relationships.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places in South Florida currently El Camino – love the refried beans
Playa – for some nightlife fun and a good lemon drop

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to honor those who has been a huge mentor to me since entering the field Dr. Gomes, one of my favorite professors.

I would love to honor my parents Andrene and Allison, for supporting my dreams of becoming a therapist from the mere age of 12.
