We had the good fortune of connecting with Janel Fields and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success of my business and my brand is by telling my story and letting my client avatar know my ‘why’. There have been times where I have gone back and forth whether or not to be vulnerable with my audience but one thing that I have learn while in business is people do not buy from people they do not know. As a business owner, you must be able to show your face, show up, tell your story, share your experiences and be relatable.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a New York native bringing my fresh and healthy cuisine to the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. I have been passionate about food for as long as I can remember with several family background influences. I attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with post education in Business Management, Food Science and Women’s Entrepreneurship from eCornell. It has not been an easy road but staying the course and remembering that people are depending on my success is what keeps me going. My legacy is depending on me to win. Field of Greens DFW is a quick and convenient system created to provide healthy and delicious cuisine for the working class and/or health savvy individual who is ready for a lifestyle change through their diet. Services include: weekly meal prep, event catering, corporate events, private dinners, recipe curator and personal cooking classes. When I am not in the kitchen, I can be found staying active in the DFW community by volunteering with several organizations such as Girls Inc of Tarrant Co., Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy and more. What sets me apart from other chefs is that I am constantly improving my services and diversifying pallets, allergies, and health concerns. It brings me joy to be able to present new food experiences for anyone open to healthier changes in their lifestyle. The satisfaction in knowing my services are producing results give me happiness. My purpose is fulfilled!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well of course – I have a laundry list of food places stored in my phone for where I want to visit. Some of my favorite places would be: – sushi from Fujiyama in Carrollton – seafood from Shells and Tails 2 Geaux in DeSoto – pizza from my favorite coffee shop Turbo Coffee Kitchen Wine in The Colony – hot wings from OT Tavern located in Greenville Ave in Downtown Dallas – chopped brisket sandwich from Hutchins BBQ in Frisco, TX

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to recognize the people who have been supporting me and my business for the last few years. To my tribe of people in the social media space to my family and friends who have constantly poured positive energy to me and have encouraged me to continue to push forward, it means the world to me.
