We had the good fortune of connecting with Dee Goodson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dee, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would say staying motivated and consistent plays the biggest part in my success in the music industry. Anyone can write a song and record it, but to actually do it on a regular basis and to keep pushing it is completely different.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a recording artist, musician, and songwriter that makes mainly Pop music in a general sense. I incorporate instruments into my music as well as pieces of Reggae every now and then too! I’m most excited about performing! Especially lately because the music has been coming out amazing and I couldn’t be more excited to share that with my audience. I would say that remaining consistent like, I mentioned before, is the most important thing for me! Mainly because personally the more I do something the better I get at it, and music has always been the biggest part of my identity; so once I started to keep writing and kept on performing at open mics and other events I just found my groove and found what worked for me! It definitely wasn’t easy and still isn’t easy yet, but nothing worth having ever is! In the end I know that it will pay for me and my loved ones very soon and that’s one of the things that keeps me going because some days are harder than others. I’ve learned SO MUCH along this journey but a couple of the biggest things that stuck with me is, “Be kind to the music and it will be kind to you” and “The task ahead of you is never as great as the strength within you”. Those phrases have always stuck with me since I was a kid. I just want the world to know that music is a universal language for all of us to enjoy no matter your color, race, or sexual orientation. We can all enjoy the time we have on this Earth together!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So first we’re gonna go to Suite 16 Studios in Tampa, FL for a recording session because I gotta get this music made! Next after that we’ll stop at Spice in Fort Myers, FL to get some fire Jamaican food! They have some oxtails that are out of this world! After that we can head on to Miami to hit a few clubs like Exchange and Miami LIV and hang out by South Beach.
