We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I have been exceptionally fortunate to cross paths with numerous exceptional individuals who have demonstrated a keen interest in my endeavors by imparting their wisdom and experience and offering words of encouragement. My commitment to excellence in all my undertakings is unwavering, and I am never hesitant to take calculated risks and work to improve my business model by implementing new systems and processes. This unwavering dedication and pursuit of excellence have been instrumental in my success, both professionally and personally.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our team has extensive expertise in various areas of the real estate industry, including business operations, property valuation, management, market and financial analysis, and measuring key performance indicators such as IRR, NPV, COC, and CAP. Our adept knowledge and experience in commercial real estate underwriting enable us to provide our clients with exceptional leadership, effective problem-solving, and successful results while minimizing risk.

We focus on acquiring underperforming properties in well-located areas and then developing and managing them to maximize their value through best-in-class asset management.

In my leisure time, I enjoy engaging in physical fitness at Orangetheory Fitness, volunteering in community initiatives, participating in competitive sports, traveling, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1: Since I grew up in Miami, I would start the day at Zak the Baker for artisanal pastries and coffee. Admire all the unique street art at Wynwood Walls. For lunch, we would try wood-fired Asian-inspired dishes at KYU. Then relax at South Beach in the afternoon. For dinner, grab a bit to eat at a local spot and end our day with innovative cocktails at Broken Shaker.

Day 2: We would start with a traditional breakfast at Versailles in Little Havana. Explore Calle Ocho on a Walking Tour. Enjoy some great seafood at La Camaronera for lunch. Then check out some contemporary art at PAMM. Maybe dine at Mandolin Aegean Bistro to end the night.

Day 3: I love the outdoors, so maybe we will Kayak through mangrove forests at Oleta River. Then, enjoy a relaxing waterfront brunch at The Standard. Relax with a spa treatment at The Standard. Dine on French-Mediterranean cuisine at LPM and end the night at Sugar rooftop bar.

Day 4: We would start our day with a scrumptious breakfast at The Surf Club Restaurant. Afterward, head over to Bal Harbour Shops for some shopping. We treat ourselves to an exquisite Japanese dining experience at Makoto for lunch. Spend the afternoon lounging on stylish daybeds and enjoying the oceanfront setting at Nikki Beach. Indulge in contemporary Japanese dishes at the sophisticated restaurant Zuma in the evening and finish the night by taking my friend to experience Miami’s legendary nightclub scene at LIV.

Day 5: Go to Key West, maybe renting a convertible for a scenic drive. Stop by Kermit’s Key Lime Pie and discover quirky shops, bars, and galleries on Duval Street. Join the sunset celebration with performers and artisans at Mallory Square. Dine under the stars at Blue Heaven.

Day 6: Indulge in an opulent brunch at Fontainebleau, one of my favorite places. We would enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Miami’s beaches and skyscrapers. We would have to experience the elegance of afternoon tea at the historic hotel, the Biltmore. End our day with live music in the intimate downtown venue, maybe Jazz at Le Chat Noir.

Day 7: We would take some time to reflect on our Miami adventures while enjoying a cup of the city’s finest coffee at Panther Coffee. Then, Stroll leisurely along the Miami Beach Boardwalk and appreciate the magnificent ocean views. We may have to satisfy my sweet tooth with artisanal donuts and coffee at The Salty Donut before bidding my friend farewell. To end our 7 days of adventure, we would end the week on a high note with a meal to remember at the Michelin-starred restaurant Stubborn Seed.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family’s support has been an invaluable asset in achieving my personal and professional goals. Their unwavering love, encouragement, and commitment to excellence have inspired and motivated me, instilling in me a strong work ethic and a compassionate perspective towards others.

Through their perseverance and humility, my parents, two sisters, and grandmother have provided me with exemplary role models who have demonstrated the value of hard work, dedication, and persistence. They have consistently offered support and guidance, helping me build a successful business.

Additionally, Don Peebles, a real estate developer, has significantly impacted my career. His forward-thinking approach to business, relentless pursuit of excellence, and representation as a leader in the commercial real estate industry have influenced me greatly. I have tremendous respect and admiration for Mr. Peebles, and his book, The Peebles Principles, has provided valuable insights and contributed to my success. Not a day passes that I don’t think about how fortunate I am to have so many extraordinary people impact my success. I am deeply grateful for the support which has been instrumental in my growth and development as an entrepreneur.
