Hi Cuc, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our dedication lies in delivering top-notch eye care services to our community while also imparting essential knowledge to our patients regarding the significance of preserving optimal vision health. Numerous diseases pose risks of vision impairment, and early detection plays a pivotal role in prevention. Despite the prevalence of common ailments like glaucoma, diabetes, and myopia, patients often overlook their eye health, attributing symptoms to aging or assuming they’ll exhibit noticeable signs.

Our primary objective is to uphold the standard of eye care beginning from early childhood. With the prevalence of technological devices such as phones, computers, and gadgets, there’s a growing concern regarding their impact on eye health. Many individuals underestimate the potential long-term consequences, particularly the accelerated progression of myopia in certain usage settings. Our aim is to intervene at the earliest opportunity, which hinges on raising awareness among patients. It’s crucial to initiate eye examinations for children as young as six months old to ensure timely detection and intervention.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Broward Optimum Eyecare is located in Davie, Florida, It has been my professional home for the more than 10 years. Despite the years, my passion for my work remains unwavering. The ability to positively impact individuals’ lives through comprehensive eye care remains deeply gratifying. Whether it’s enabling a patient to experience clear vision for the first time or introducing them to transformative technologies like contact lenses, the sense of fulfillment is immeasurable.

Inevitably, there are moments where delivering unfavorable news is necessary, yet knowing that timely intervention may have saved a patient’s life underscores the profound impact of our profession. Over the years, cultivating relationships with patients has transformed them into an extended family, further enriching the significance of the work.

My journey has been characterized by dedication, perseverance, and the unwavering support of my loved ones. Balancing the demands of managing a business while nurturing a family is undoubtedly challenging, but the optometry community’s abundant resources have facilitated continuous growth and excellence in our field.

The support of family and friends, particularly my children, serves as a constant source of motivation. Throughout my academic pursuits and even beyond graduation, Dr. Van consistently went the extra mile, generously sharing her expertise on patient care and the intricacies of business administration.
