We had the good fortune of connecting with Jay Rombach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jay, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To truly reinvent myself after a 34-year career in a corporate setting and then two years of trying to find my way as an entrepreneur. I eventually reached a point where I decided that to truly reinvent myself I had to let go of everything I had accomplished in my prior professional life. I turned my focus to a new passion for helping individuals, business leaders, and business owners. I have always loved being innovative, and my interest in learning artificial intelligence opened up new ways to help others improve themselves in ways that have never existed before.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was a Human Resources professional for 34 years. I am proud of the fact that I helped people navigate the world of work and their careers. I was considered a good listener who had compassion for respect for workers as they experienced the ups and downs of work. I was also recognized often for work with corporate leaders of all disciplines and at all levels. I was considered a very knowledgeable and helpful teacher and coach about leadership. What I want the world to know if that I believed the Human Resources was to serve others and not enforce compliance. Of course I was instrumental in developing work cultures of high integrity and ethics, and respect for employment laws. But mainly I was known for being fair and focused on helping others first and foremost.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I live in South Florida I would take them to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean so they can experience the diverse cultures and tastes of this vibrant area with international flair. We would enjoy some of the adventures you can only experience on the water and beach, and also the many different restaurants based on international cultures. Going to South Beach and also Fort Lauderdale would be the most fun, diverse, and interesting experiences, from retail shops to restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a Shoutout to David Riklan and Mark Porteous of the Joint Venture Directory first, and if possible to mention a second one, my partners and friends at Right Management.
