We had the good fortune of connecting with Aymee Nuviola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aymee, how do you think about risk?
Risk is always essential to take when you want to start a project, especially in my field, which is entertainment, in my case I call the risk Faith (The faith that surpasses all understanding, The Combination of what is expected and the certainty of what is not seen); However, it must come accompanied by a dose of realism, you have to know that there is a price to pay, there are mistakes to correct and many hours of hard work with focus and character to sustain you during the process, even more so if you are an Afro-Latina woman and an immigrant like me. I mention this not in a victim’s position but to motivate someone.
Take risk only if the desire to take it comes from your heart. If you are not clear about it and feel insecure, it is best to wait until you are ready to take it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I make Tropical Dance Music and Latin Jazz, I am a Classical Piano graduate and I generally write my songs or share the authorship with another colleague.
I am a multiple winner of Grammy and Latin Grammy, I also have several nominations, I was the first member of the Tropical Category to represent it with my music in a Grammy’s Telecast in 2022, this is mentioned among other great achievements as the protagonist who I play the Immense Celia Cruz in the Series “CELIA” that we could see on NETFLIX among other important platforms in the world.
I have sung without amplification in the prestigious Mozart Opera hall in Vienna as well as in the most important Jazz festivals in the world with the great piano Master Gonzalo Rubalcaba and my band, among others.
I have been very blessed by GOD to have angels in my life who have contributed greatly to my journey. The fundamental thing is to educate yourself and work daily, show character in the face of difficulties, be grateful and loyal to your work team and above all things to be humble and never forget your roots.
The greatest lesson learned among so many battles is not to take anything personally, work hard, take care of your health, never put yourself in the position of a victim and understand that GOD’s timing is perfect.
I never think about how I would like the world to see my Art, I only work on how I want to leave my legacy in this world, for them to see an authentic person who gave everything she could and with the excellence she could while she was in this world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! I imagine you are asking me about my City Miami “The Capital of Latin and Tropical Music in the World”
Well, after picking them up at the airport, I would take them to where it all started! on SW 8th Street, we would buy some Cuban sandwiches with coffee with milk at “Sanguich de Miami” after the whole tour of the Domino Park and the Tower theater where there is an exhibition on the life of our Salsa Queen Celia Cruz.
We continue and go to Miami Beach to sunbathe in the magnificent waters of Florida. In the afternoon, shopping and art galleries along Wynwood Walls and the Design District, we visited the Brickell City Center for the latest clothing purchases, etc. We will go up to the “Sugar” a fantastic rooftop in Brickell and dinner at “Calle Dragones” an exquisite restaurant that offers a spectacular Asian-Cuban fusion created by Chef Luis Pous, at the end of the night at “Cafe La Trova” on 8th Street with the best drinks and the best traditional Cuban music to dance to.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people and companies that have helped me get here. I prefer to generalize, thank and applaud the Hispanic music and entertainment industry in the United States, where many of its members have contributed to the fulfillment of all my dreams.
