Hi Calii, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is clarity of purpose combined with consistency in execution. Consistency, authenticity, engagement and understanding my audience has been key.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My best friend Eboni and I—rest her soul—made a pact to build success through content creation. We committed to a strict schedule, staying consistent for an entire year, with everything planned out: content dates, photo shoots, wardrobe, and more. We truly believed that if we stuck to the plan, it would eventually pay off. After just 30 days of consistent posting, it happened—I went viral with 4.8 million views and gained 100K followers! We were in disbelief, but from that moment on, everything took off.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend was visiting, FOOD is first and foremost so I’d prepare a recipe from my cookbook “Eat It Up” available for digital download. Then, I’d take them to my music studio for some fun and creativity, followed by a relaxing session at Hand and Stone massage—because who doesn’t love self-care? Then, since I’m the kind of friend who loves trying new things, I’d plan a bar crawl so we can explore multiple spots together in one evening. Lastly if you’re from Detroit you know you’ve got to take a boat ride downtown if it’s summertime!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If it wasn’t for my son Cash I would not have found my purpose and I would not have the drive and determination that I do today. I love him for that. My biggest blessing.
