We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Tynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominique, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Beautiful Florida landscape, sky space and seascapes. I enjoy painting bright bold colors that’s all around us. I love being around my artistic family. I am the niece of Florida Highwaymen James Gibson, niece of Freddie Gibson and brother Vernon Tynes Jr ( 2nd generation Highwaymen).

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“I am native of Fort Pierce, Florida, born in 1985, I found my artistic roots in Vero Beach. My educational journey led to Indian River Schools, culminating in a Bachelor of Fine Art in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Drawing inspiration from my artistic family, abstracts, women empowerment themes, and breathtaking landscapes and seascapes in the distinctive Florida Highwaymen styles.

I believe art is therapeutic! The more you do it the better you feel! So it’s important for me to share my talents and gifts with the community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
7th Ave Gallery, Sunset Art Studio LLC. Live concerts , Beach and local restaurants are our main attractions.

I think some of the best restaurants are 14 bones BBQ, Heavenly Wings, Penny Hill Sub and Maryland Friend Chicken.

We have fun movie theaters, bowling alleys, paradise beaches and popular art galleries, Vero Beach Art Club and Vero Beach Museum of Art.

Vero Beach ,FL is also known for Florida Highwaymen Art Shows and Auctioneers. There are free concerts and live paintings at Walking Tree Brewery. Great place to stop by and visit.
