We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscilla Styles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My decision to pursue a creative career stems from my childhood in Mexico, where I first discovered my love for fashion. Watching telenovelas with my grandmother, I became captivated by the styling—the intricate details of hair, makeup, clothing, and accessories. These moments sparked a passion for creating and analyzing looks, planting the seed for my future in fashion. However, societal stigmas and misconceptions about creative careers initially discouraged me. I was often told that success in fashion was only possible through a degree in fashion design, which wasn’t my focus.

Instead, I chose to study Marketing, driven by my fascination with sociology, consumer behavior, and branding strategies—fields that I later realized are deeply interconnected with the fashion industry. This educational foundation gave me a unique perspective that would later shape my approach to creativity.

In 2020, the pandemic became a turning point. Like many, I took the time to reflect on my true passions and decided to dive headfirst into the fashion world. I began freelancing as a fashion stylist, which not only reignited my creativity but also inspired me to share my journey. I started an Instagram account to showcase my work, and later, I identified an untapped niche on TikTok: exploring the behind-the-scenes aspects of the fashion industry. While others focused on outfit ideas, I created content about trends, education, economics, consumer behavior, and the stories behind iconic designs and celebrity stylists.

This approach resonated with audiences and helped me connect with others seeking guidance on creative careers. Over the past three years, I’ve successfully carved out a space in the digital fashion landscape, where social media has democratized opportunities and allowed for authentic self-expression. For me, pursuing a creative career wasn’t just about following a passion—it was about redefining what success looks like in the fashion industry and embracing the power of storytelling in a modern, accessible way.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my unique perspective on fashion and the way I approach it as more than just clothing or trends. I blend my background in marketing, my passion for sociology, and my love for fashion to explore the deeper layers of the industry. I aim to educate, spark meaningful conversations, and bring a behind-the-scenes lens to the world of fashion.

I think another thing that sets me apart is how I’ve been able to create a space that bridges high fashion with accessibility. I break down what can sometimes feel like an exclusive, intimidating industry and make it approachable, engaging, and inspiring for my audience. My community is built on curiosity and passion, and I’m so proud of the connection we’ve cultivated.

What truly defines me is my storytelling. Whether I’m reviewing a runway show, diving into the significance of a red carpet moment, or analyzing how trends reflect society, I strive to add depth to the way people think about fashion. My goal has always been to show that fashion is more than surface-level—it’s a reflection of culture, identity, and even history. I think my ability to balance education, inspiration, and creativity while staying authentic to myself is what makes me stand out.

The journey has been far from easy, but I’ve learned to navigate the challenges and find joy in the process over time. Working in fashion and social media brings its own unique struggles, and one of the most significant for me has been maintaining my mental health. I’ve been open about this on my platforms because I think it’s important to highlight the realities behind the curated world we present.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami for a week, I’d make sure to give them the full experience of everything this vibrant city has to offer—beautiful beaches, amazing food, buzzing nightlife, and rich culture. We’d start with breakfast at Greenstreet Cafe or Cuban coffee at Versailles, then hit South Beach for sun and ocean vibes. A day in Wynwood Walls for street art and lunch at Kush Wynwood would be a must. We’d explore Little Havana and end the night at Lagniappe. I also love to walk around Key Biscayne so we would 100% do that. To wrap it up, we’d explore the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and have a farewell dinner. Miami is a perfect mix of beaches, culture, food, and fashion

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has always believed in me, even during moments when I doubted myself. They’ve encouraged me to embrace my creativity and reminded me that pursuing my passion is worth every challenge. At the end of the day, I am who I am because of them. From my grandmother, who nurtured my love for fashion, to my sister and parents, their unwavering support has been my foundation. What I’ve accomplished is all thanks to their support. When I wanted to take a risk, I knew they had my back.

I also want to thank my friends and peers in this industry who have collaborated with me, inspired me, and generously shared their wisdom. During challenging times, the support of friends can be the perfect antidote to a lack of inspiration or even burnout. Knowing that my peers and I are navigating similar struggles but always have each other’s backs is incredibly empowering. A special shoutout to my amazing friends @marmolviejo and @betzyramirez—your contributions, encouragement, and perspective have not only shaped my journey but elevated my work in ways I never could have imagined. I’m endlessly grateful for you.

Lastly, but certainly not least, my faith is the foundation that supports me through every step of this journey. I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His countless blessings, mercy and the unconditional love He has poured into my life. I dedicate each moment of my life and work to Him in the hopes that I can glorify Him now and forever. All that I am and all that I achieve is because of His grace.
