Meet Jacob Kissoon | Founder, Jacob’s goodies

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Kissoon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacob, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My dad taught me how to do 3D printing, and at first, I just thought it was really cool to make stuff. But then I started thinking—what if I could make things that people actually want to buy? I saw other kids buying things like keychains, custom phone stands, and gaming accessories, and I thought, ‘I can make those!’
So, my thought process was:
Find something people want – I asked my friends what kind of cool stuff they’d buy if it was 3D printed.
Make it unique – I didn’t just want to copy what’s already out there, so I started designing my own versions.
Keep improving – My first prints weren’t perfect, but I kept testing and fixing them until they looked really good.
Figure out how to sell them – I started by selling to my friends, then I made an online shop and started getting more orders!
At first, it was just for fun, but now I see that I can actually make money doing something I love. It feels great to say I am a business owner at 12 years old.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For me, 3D printing is more than just making cool stuff—it’s like creating something out of nothing, and that’s what I love about it. What sets me apart is that I don’t just print random designs; I create things that people actually want and need. My top seller is a custom cookie cutter in the shape of the island where my parents were born, Trinidad and Tobago.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely have to give a huge shoutout to my dad for teaching me how to 3D print! When he first showed me how it worked, I thought it was just a fun hobby, but he helped me see that I could actually turn it into a business. He was really patient, helping me learn how to design, fix mistakes, and make my prints better each time.
He also taught me a lot about running a business—like how to price my stuff, take orders, and keep improving what I make. Without him, I probably wouldn’t have even thought about starting my own business this young.
So, shoutout to my dad for believing in me, always pushing me to get better, and for showing me that I can create something awesome with my own ideas!
