Meet Jazmin Jimenez | Hair and Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmin Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazmin, what do you attribute your success to?
I bring transparency to each and every client that sits in my chair. The success behind my business comes from client satisfaction and always making sure they are happy with the service and with me. Having patience, being understanding, and delivering what the client wants regardless of what I think would be better. I am the professional and I can always advise but I will always go above and beyond to make sure the client get what they are asking and paying for. Aside from always delivering I also bring the vibes. Serene and calming energy especially for my brides, and my first timers. In this industry you have to have the power of will to know that even in slow times you have to keep going. When having a business professionalism and service are always at the top but perseverance and dedication comes first.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a hair and makeup artist one of the things I’m most proud of is my talent, and the hunger to continue educating myself in an industry that doesn’t ever stop changing or coming up with new trends. However, my personality is what sets me apart because we’re dealing with people at the end of the day and the service matters, but how you make your client feel matters more to me. Sometimes the artist is the first face you see in the morning, or before a big day or event. The nerves always come out and I make it my job to make sure you’re comfortable, at ease, and ready for anything that comes your way that day. After going to school and getting licensed, working in many different salons and learning from talented individuals had a huge part of getting me to where I am today. I wanna say the most difficult part was starting my own company and diving into the unknown of what was gonna happen, but like everything the seed doesn’t grow overnight. Patience has been my biggest lesson along this journey, and trusting in myself and my craft. My brand stands for beauty, inside and out, and I will continue to bring out the beauty in people no matter race, color, or gender. Feeling beautiful is something that everyone should experience and whether I have a hand in it or not, I will continue to promote beauty in every sense of the word. Beauty isn’t a thing you can achieve, it’s something you feel about yourself or others, and If I can get very person in my chair to achieve that feeling then I’m completing my purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Seeing as I live in South Florida, Disney world or the keys is always a good idea. I’d either drive up to Disneys for the parks, or do a staycation at the keys or south beach to really enjoy the weather. Lagniappe is always a go to spot for many wine selections and they’re charcuterie’s. Louie Bossi’s for Italian is my favorite spot. Yoga classes are always a great idea, seeing as an instructor I love being on the learning/student side. There’s also a lot of different activities like paint with a twist, pottery making, axe throwing, ranges, jet skiing, and even the everglades, and of course you can’t forget a good beach day when in Miami.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I was jumping in between salons and trying to figure out if to go full force with my own business or go into another salon, my partner was the one to say jump. That’s why this shoutout goes to him! From supporting me in my lows, mentally and physically to encouraging me to face my fears and be uncomfortable. I can honestly say I would’ve done it without him, but he has made this ride so much easier, and fun. Knowing that I’m not doing it alone, and have the support from my loved one has made all the difference and given me so much push to pursue my own dreams. Doing it alone is inspiring, but when you have someone to push you forward, it really is the most amazing feeling. If you wanna succeed in anything, do it alone or at least make sure the person you have next to you is your number #1 fan.
