Meet Ray Costa | President Mike Sipe Entertainment

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Costa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ray, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Without risk, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Stepping away from the club circuit as a DJ and diving into private events—especially high-end weddings and large corporate gigs—was a big shift for me. But that move opened up a whole new world of opportunities. Taking risks is what shaped my path, and I’ll always be willing to take more if it means growing as an entertainer and evolving in this industry.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I always say what separates me from the everyday DJ is my passion for truly impacting someone’s life in a meaningful way. When I perform at a wedding, I know I’m creating the atmosphere for what could be one of the most memorable nights of their lives. That responsibility isn’t something I take lightly—it’s what drives me every time I step behind the booth.
Getting to where I am now didn’t happen overnight. I spent years shadowing other DJs, working long nights for no pay, constantly playing the background until I earned my moment. It took a lot of patience, persistence, and faith that if I kept grinding, my time would come. And it did.
There were plenty of challenges along the way—people doubting my shift from the nightclub scene to private events, saying it would kill my career. I turned down headlining opportunities at major clubs around the world because I had a bigger vision: to build something lasting, something meaningful. That vision eventually led me to help lead an incredible company like Mike Sipe Entertainment.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that not everyone will celebrate your success—and that’s okay. Sometimes the ones talking behind your back are the same ones wishing they had your drive. You can’t let that noise distract you from the end goal.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Ray Costa is more than just a DJ. I’m someone who chased a dream to entertain and uplift people—whether I’m behind the turntables or standing in front of a crowd. Anyone can play music—but not everyone can leave a lasting impact. That’s what I strive for every single time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This one’s easy. I’m a big sports guy, so I’d definitely recommend catching a Miami Heat game, a Florida Panthers matchup, or even checking out the Dolphins or Inter Miami soccer team. Sporting events in Miami are electric—they give you a real taste of what this city is all about.
We’d kick back on the beach for a day, then grab a cold beer and some wings at the one-and-only Flanigan’s. From there, depending on the vibe, maybe we shift gears and hit a high-end nightclub or lounge to experience Miami’s legendary nightlife.
The best part about Miami is the range—you can go from laid-back and casual to upscale and unforgettable all in the same day. Whether you’re into sports, beaches, food, or nightlife, this city has something for everyone.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Easily my parents. I’ll never forget when they traveled with me internationally while I was still underage just so I could DJ at a nightclub. They literally slept on a random sofa in someone’s house for three nights while I performed—and that trip ended up changing my life. I met some of the most important people in my career during that time, which eventually led me into the radio world, and later, to a position with the 3-time NAB Champion Miami Heat.
They’ve supported everything I’ve ever done—no questions asked. And little did they know that buying me that first turntable set back in middle school would completely change the trajectory of my life. I owe it all to my mom and dad.
