We had the good fortune of connecting with Roxy Quevedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roxy, what do you attribute your success to?
Zeta Event Productions is a full-service event production company—essentially a one-stop shop for all your event needs. What sets us apart is our ability to streamline communication for our clients by managing every aspect of their vision under one roof. This not only provides a smoother planning experience but also results in better service and significant cost savings.

Because we own all of our inventory, we’re able to offer unique perks and incentives without the added layers of third-party vendors. Our team is highly experienced and incredibly talented, with a deep commitment to creativity, logistics, and flawless execution. We are passionate about what we do, and that passion shows in our attention to detail and our relentless pursuit of excellence in every event.

So, the most important factor behind our success is this: we package all of our services in one place, guided by experience and fueled by passion. That combination allows us to deliver exceptional events, time and time again.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business has grown organically through passion, grit, and a whole lot of heart. It all began with my husband, Saul, who has been a professional DJ for as long as I’ve known him. He used to take on DJ gigs on the side, simply because he loved it—and of course, the extra income didn’t hurt. One year, he attended a DJ conference in Las Vegas, and I tagged along just for fun. During one of the sessions, a speaker suggested that if your partner was in the DJ world, they should consider getting into event planning to help generate more business. That idea sparked something in me.

At the time, I had planned several large events in my corporate job and really enjoyed the creative process, even though I didn’t love the corporate world itself. I’d spent 18 years working for a prestigious Fortune 500 company and was feeling the weight of burnout. Deep down, I knew I was capable of more—something that would fulfill me and give more to my family. So, I took the leap. I pursued a Wedding Planning Certification and focused on the social event market, which I absolutely loved.

Everyone in my family thought I was crazy for leaving a stable job to chase a dream with no guarantees. But I had a fire in me, and I knew that failure wasn’t an option. I teamed up with an incredibly creative photographer, Victoria Machin, and we hit the ground running. Soon after, I expanded into floral, design, and décor, which led me to become an Event Designer. That shift allowed us to grow organically, building our inventory piece by piece. My team used to laugh and say, “What did you sell next?” as I reinvested everything back into the business.

Eventually, Saul joined the company full-time, and our commitment to Zeta Event Productions became a shared mission. We attended industry conferences regularly and kept pushing to evolve. I even became a speaker at nationally recognized conferences like BizBash and The Special Event. We worked tirelessly to stay ahead of the trends and bring value to our clients.

Five years in, we realized we needed help—and the perfect person was already in our family. Our daughter, Jackie Cerna, joined the team. With her Master’s degree in Hospitality Management and experience at a luxury hotel, she brought a whole new perspective to our company. Jackie was newly married at the time and tired of long hours and long commutes, so the timing couldn’t have been better. When she joined, Zeta truly became a family-owned business. She brought structure, new technology, and a fresh approach to logistics, client relations, and operations. She became our “hawk”—the one with the wide-angle view who helped us align everything.

Of course, working with family comes with its own set of challenges. We had to learn new ways to communicate, adjust to each other’s working styles, and navigate the complexities of mixing business with personal life. But we’ve done an amazing job keeping it together. We’ve grown stronger through every trial and triumph, learning from one another and deepening our love and respect. Even on our days off, we enjoy spending time together as a family.

Clients feel that energy the moment they walk through our doors. They light up when they find out we’re a family-run business. It creates a beautiful connection—like they’re inviting our family into their own for their most meaningful celebrations. And yes, our little Shih Tzu-Bichon mix, Zoey, is part of the team too! She’s our office pup, and clients absolutely love her. So much so, we made our office pet-friendly, and Zoey has become a comforting, joyful presence during what can be a stressful planning process.

Our growth hasn’t come easy. We’ve weathered learning curves, economic shifts, a pandemic, slow seasons, personal setbacks, and the ever-evolving event landscape. But the passion within me keeps me going. Every time we see the joy on our clients’ faces, it reignites our drive. There’s nothing more fulfilling than bringing someone’s vision to life and knowing we played a part in their milestone moments.

What I want people to know is this: we never stop learning, we never stop evolving, and we never stop caring. Zeta Event Productions is rooted in passion, resilience, and family. We’re here to create more than events—we’re here to create memories that last a lifetime, with love at the heart of it all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
After our sailing escape, we’d explore Brickell. I’d show off the exciting growth in the area—from new hotels to luxurious high-rises that seem to get more impressive by the day. Another day, we’d step into Miami’s past with a visit to the breathtaking Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, followed by a walk through Little Havana to experience the heart and soul of the city—music in the streets, delicious Cuban coffee, and rich culture at every corner.

I’d also plan a day at Zoo Miami, which offers immersive experiences and a chance to connect with wildlife in a beautifully designed space. Of course, no trip to Miami is complete without a day at the beach—strolling down Lincoln Road, choosing from endless dining options, and enjoying the vibrant nightlife and bar scene in South Beach.

On our final day, we’d explore Wynwood for its edgy art, local shops, and murals, then end the trip with a bang at the newly revitalized Miami Design District. It’s an absolute must-see, home to world-renowned luxury brands and stunning architecture. Even as a native Miamian, I was blown away by how this area has transformed. Seeing iconic fashion houses and upscale boutiques all within a few miles is a proud reminder of how far our city has come.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to Jackie Cerna, our Director of Operations and truly my right and left hand. Jackie is an incredibly talented Event Planner whose background in hotel management, logistics, and problem solving has been essential to the success of our company. She’s the one who holds all the nuts and bolts together, ensuring everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes. Beyond her operational expertise, Jackie is also deeply creative and forward-thinking. She embraces new technologies with ease, always bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the table. She’s a confident speaker and passionate about educating our clients, helping them make more informed decisions throughout the planning process. Her ability to genuinely connect with people makes her an invaluable part of our team—she’s not only brilliant at what she does, but truly a breath of fresh air.
