We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Overton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Due to a the economy taking a hit in the early 2000’s My corporate position eliminated to save money. I had to pivot and turn my passion for healthy skin into a new career. At that time, there were very few aestheticians or even dermatologists that specialized in brown and black skin. I needed to go into the industry at an elevated level if I was going to make this work. I searched for a program that offered a degree in medical aesthetics.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Quench Esthetics is a results driven medical aesthetics practice that specializes in the treatment of melanin-rich skin. At Quench we don’t just treat your skin we educate you about your skin and your skins unique needs. We are a true partner in your skincare journey. We take the time to get a well rounded view of your lifestyle so we can treat your skincare concerns while without disruption of your way of life.

Over the years Its been quite a ride. Quench Esthetics was established, QuencH2O Skincare is about to launch and Quench Academy is on the horizon!

When I opened Quench Esthetics my daughter was about to start high school and I had no truly viable client base. I was just begining to build and I treated clients out of my home. Before I knew it my daughter was ready to start college and I quickly realized that I needed to supplement my income. It was necessary make Quench my part-time job for a few years.

During that time I had the privilege working with celebrated plastic surgeons and dermatologists that were generous in sharing their wisdom and knowledge. I was then fortunate enough to share these experiences with other aesthetic professionals as a clinical trainer for one of the most respected aesthetic laser companies and an international micro-needling clinical trainer. It was a wild ride. Since then my daughter has graduated college and launched her own career.

Quench was relaunched in 2020 and had been thriving ever since. Nothing makes my heart leap with joy more than elevating a person’s perception of themselves by walking with them on their skin health journey. To see the renewed confidence in someone who will no longer hold their head down or worry “if this make-up will have enough coverage.” due to the condition or appearance of their skin

Through all of the challenges and experiences, I have been blessed in so many ways. I’ve built a loyal client base that will literally follow me anywhere…. and they have, I love my clients!

Fall 2025 we are very excited to launch QuencH20, a medical-grade line designed specifically for black and brown skin. Recognizing their unique needs, QuencH2O offers products that improve skin health with strength, hydration, and protection. Our goal is to help individuals feel confident in their natural beauty by targeting concerns like dark spots, uneven tone and texture, and dullness. We use advanced formulas with potent ingredients to ensure visible results and high safety standards.

Quench Academy, a skin of color institute was born from my love for specializing and treating Melanin-rich skin together with my passion for training and sharing my knowledge an experience. Presently we offer 1:1 private hands-on intensive trainings for licensed esthetic and medical professionals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would have to take a ride to Key West, take in the history, dine at nine one five , and buy Kino sandals.
A day in Wynwood, Wynwood walls, Paradox museum then dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab end the night at the fontainbleau.
Drive up St. Augustine and send a couple of days antiquing and stopping in Palm Beach for estate sales on our way back down.
Of course enjoying amazing cuisine and cocktails along the way!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my mentor Sherry Taylor. Sherry was my paramedical instructor at Florida College of Natual Health. I was a single mother with a daughter in middle school who wasn’t absolutuely sure she could make a “real” living in skincare. I asked Sherry almost weekly basis,”are you sure I can make money at this?”. Sherry advised me to find my niche and be great at it! My niche was brown and black skin.

Before I graduated from the program there was a prominent doctor in Miami that specialized in brown and black skin that contacted her to fill a need he had for an aesthetician. Sherry informed me that she had the perfect opportunity for me. I was concerned about my ablitity to fill the position, after all I hadn’t graduated. She assured me that I was ready. I gleaned so much from that postition.

With technology catching up to include darkerskin tones in some laser treatments Sherry encouraged me to persue my certification as a laser tech.

Sherry poured all of her knowledge and confidence into me……and frankly, still does!
