We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My journey into entrepreneurship was deeply personal. After experiencing postpartum depression following a miscarriage and then the exhausting nights with my rainbow baby, who woke every hour, I understood firsthand how sleep deprivation can impact a mother’s mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. Hiring a sleep consultant completely changed my life. My baby began sleeping through the night, my mental health improved, and I finally felt like myself again.

That transformation lit a fire in me. I wanted to give other mothers the same hope and relief I found, so I combined my background in education, my certifications in pediatric sleep and life coaching, and my passion for empowering women to create Mindful Mother. My thought process was simple: mothers deserve rest, support, and a judgment-free space to thrive. This business is my way of making sure no mom feels alone in that journey.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Mindful Mother, was born from my own journey through postpartum depression, anxiety, and severe sleep deprivation after the birth of my rainbow baby. When I finally hired a sleep consultant, it transformed my life. My baby began sleeping through the night, my mental health improved, and I felt like myself again. That experience inspired me to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant and motherhood life coach so I could help other mothers reclaim rest, joy, and balance.

What sets Mindful Mother apart is our holistic, two-pronged approach. Alongside my work in pediatric sleep consulting, my best friend and cofounder, a licensed marriage and family therapist, offers therapy support. Together, we address both the practical and emotional needs of families. Our personalized plans include both audio and video formats, making them perfect for busy, on-the-go moms who need support they can access anytime, anywhere.

Getting to where we are today has not been easy. Entrepreneurship has meant learning marketing, building a client base, and balancing business with motherhood. I overcame challenges by leaning on my incredible support system, my husband, my sister, my parents, my cofounder, my mentor Violet Giannone, and my business coach Stephanie Jones, and staying grounded in my “why.”

I’m most proud of the lives we’ve changed, not just for the babies, but for the moms who are finally sleeping again, easing their anxiety, and feeling like themselves. I’ve learned that success in this work isn’t just about strategies, it’s about connection, empathy, and meeting families exactly where they are.

I want the world to know that Mindful Mother exists to give parents the tools, support, and confidence they need to thrive. No mom should feel alone in her struggles, and rest is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much of my journey to the incredible support system around me. My husband, my sister, and my parents have been my rock, always believing in me, cheering me on, and stepping in when I needed an extra hand.

I’m also grateful for my best friend, Isabelle Cantave, a licensed marriage and family therapist and the cofounder of Mindful Mother. Her expertise, insight, and shared vision have been instrumental in building a business that truly supports families on multiple levels.

I’m also deeply grateful to Violet Giannone, my IPSP instructor and mentor, whose guidance and expertise shaped my foundation as a pediatric sleep consultant. And to Stephanie Jones, my business coach, who has pushed me to dream bigger, stay focused, and build with intention.

It truly takes a village, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without these amazing people in my corner.
