We had the good fortune of connecting with Bria Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bria, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Impress Tax Service and launching my own business came from a deep desire for independence, growth, and impact. After spending years gaining experience in the tax industry, I realized I wanted more than just a job—I wanted to create a legacy, build a brand rooted in trust, and serve my community in ways that went beyond filing returns. I saw the need for a tax service that not only provided accurate and reliable results but also educated clients, empowered families, and gave back to the community through financial literacy programs and outreach. Starting my own firm allowed me to take control of my future, walk in my purpose, and build something that reflects my values, passion, and vision for long-term success

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Impress Tax Service apart is the heart behind the work. I don’t just file taxes – I educate, empower, and create long-term financial confidence for individuals, families, and business owners. My firm is rooted in community service, from teaching financial literacy to the youth and adults in Broward and Dade County, to partnering with nonprofits, schools, and local organizations to give back year-round.

What I am most proud of is that I built this business from nothing but faith, determination, and the support of my kids. No one really believed in me at the start, but I refused to let that stop me. I proved that with consistency, knowledge, and integrity, you can create something that not only sustains your family but also impacts your entire community.

Getting here wasn’t easy. It took late nights, sacrifice, rejection, and learning from mistakes. But every challenge sharpened me. I’ve been in the industry for 10 years and on my own for 6, and I can honestly say each season has brought growth and new opportunities.

The lessons I’ve learned: never underestimate yourself, always invest in continuous learning, and never lose sight of your “why.” Mine has always been God and my children – they kept me focused.

What I want people to know about Impress Tax Service is that it’s more than a tax firm. It’s a brand built on trust, community, and empowerment. My story is proof that you can rise above doubt, build your own table, and create a legacy. When you work with Impress, you’re not just a client – you’re family, and I’m invested in seeing you win.

Shoutout to nobody, because honestly, I didn’t have anyone who believed in me—most people thought I was going to fail. The only ones I truly want to acknowledge are God and my kids. They never left my side, never doubted me, and kept me pushing even when the odds were stacked against me.
