We had the good fortune of connecting with Scribbles Who and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scribbles, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I’ve always believed music should mirror the times and the emotional temperature of the people living in them. The songs I’m releasing right now are rooted in real headlines affecting my own community. “Black Swans” speaks to those of us who’ve had to live life on our toes—navigating pressure with poise and grace. And my latest release, “Die in Peace,” was inspired by the story of Adrianna Smith—a brain-dead woman kept alive against her family’s wishes because she was pregnant, a decision driven by Georgia’s abortion laws.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is rooted in storytelling. I am creating music that mirrors the emotional reality of the times: the beauty, the tension, the survival, the softness, and the strength. I like to say my songs live at the intersection of alternative R&B and lived experience. What sets me apart is my intention. Every release is connected to a real headline, a real person, or a real moment in culture. I’m not just making soundtracks; I’m archiving feelings and messy thoughts of the mind.

Isn’t not easy but it is fun. Challenges are a part of life and I treat them as what they are; kind professors of the game of life.

I’m most proud of the world I’m building through my art—one where the “Black Swan” archetype is honored. A Black Swan is someone who has been “othered,” yet still moves through life with poise and grace. That narrative shows up in my visuals, my writing, and my entire creative universe.

In this chapter, I am learning that consistency beats perfection every time.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this: my art is intentional. A songwriter from Pompano Beach, Florida – born to Haitian parents currently living fully in NYC.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to tell about the things me and my best friend did when she visited me. We had Jamaican food at the Simpson in downtown Brooklyn. Speaking of Brooklyn we had to have brunch at Kokomos. We did do sexy things like The Saint Lounge in the city and the Blue Note. Of course, we are listening to vinyl at The Record Room in LIC. Drinks at the Roxy and before that hard to get reservation at Tatiana’s. Made custom perfume in Willamsburg and did some black-owned shopping in BedStuy, Lots of time in Brooklyn LOL because the Brooklyn Museum is also a good look.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out Kaban Studios & Director and Videographer, CEO Jay! You’re a true story-teller and I truly enjoy collaborating with you.
