Meet EDUARDO ABAD | Painter from Venezuela, a Land of Grace

We had the good fortune of connecting with EDUARDO ABAD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi EDUARDO, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Without a doubt, the essential factor in my case has been to understand that there are innate conditions or abilities that make us unique. In some way you should be grateful and cultivate those abilities if they coincide with your spiritual vocation. On many occasions, the circumstances of life itself lead you towards that goal, even if you have not intentionally planned it. I am a mechanical engineer by profession, but since I left Venezuela 6 years ago, I have dedicated my time to painting, although I have been doing it since I was a child.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work is reflected in the motto “Venezuela – Land of Grace.”
My motivation is to transcend the images taken by me as photographer in emblematic and often very difficult-to-access locations in my native Venezuela, adding an emotional and personal dimension by transferring them to canvas.
They reflect my lifelong passion for painting and the satisfaction of showcasing the geography, light, and colors that make Venezuela a land of incomparable natural beauty.
It’s not just about having traveled to and explored these remote places.
It’s not just about capturing them in photographs and simply sharing them.
It’s about transporting those experiences to a canvas, to transmit the energy and magic they left in your memory.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the development of my career as an artist, the first step was taken by my father, who enrolled me at a young age to study drawing and painting using formal academic methods in Caracas.
My teacher there gave me a very solid technical foundation, which is invaluable, although many people in the art world today don’t appreciate it.
Also, Simón Bolívar University, where I graduated as a mechanical engineer, because it influenced the importance I place on respecting a design in a defined and methodical way, which is reflected in my paintings.
Several of my friends have taken the time to offer me opportunities and contacts to present my work, mainly in Florida, Spain, and Japan.
And without a doubt, the support of my wife Nayarit, my social media manager and my number one fan.
