Hi Manjula, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The staff at my first Dermatology job in a large practice in the 1990s told me I had the best rapport with my patients they had ever seen, and so I should open my own Dermatology office, back in 1998

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Miami Skin Institute, what sets us apart is our blend of medical excellence, artistic vision, and personalized care. Dr. Manjula Jegasothy brings a unique level of expertise, having served as a physician trainer during the approval of Botox® and dermal fillers, teaching advanced injection techniques to other doctors. This experience allows her to deliver exceptionally precise, natural-looking results. We also customize laser settings for each patient to maximize results while minimizing downtime, ensuring treatments are both effective and tailored to individual skin needs.

We are a cosmetic dermatology practice rooted in science and aesthetic sensitivity, where every treatment is tailored to each patient’s unique goals. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Jegasothy combines precision, safety, and a refined aesthetic approach across injectables and advanced non-invasive laser treatments—helping patients feel confident in their skin at every age, with results that feel natural, not “done.”

We’ve grown by continuously evolving—embracing new technologies and developing innovative, customized treatment approaches—while staying true to our belief that subtle enhancement creates lasting beauty. Above all, we’ve learned that listening and customization are everything.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to town, I’d show them a day full of style, food, and fun. We’d start with a late lunch at MC Kitchen in the Design District, then spend the afternoon wandering galleries and shops. Along the way, we’d pop into several of the open-air bars you’ll pass for drinks and people-watching, and cap the day with dinner at Nami Nori, a modern sushi spot that never disappoints.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Junior League of Miami. I’ve been a member for 25+ years now and I am constantly in awe of the organization and its members. So many women doing so much good for less fortunate women in Miami, while having a blast at the same time. The support of my long term friends, all leaders in the JLM, also built my practice, the Miami Skin Institute. For that I am eternally grateful!
