We had the good fortune of connecting with Bill Savarese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bill, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a devoted artist and parent, I have always kept focus on diverting posiytive energy to these 2 priorities in my life; my children and my Art. As a parent; nurturing self esteme and showing by example how to thrive in life. In art; staying focused and letting go, in the moments of creation. My children have watched me while I work in both music and art, and they have adopted similar priorities in their life missions.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting started in animated film in Denmark was the begining of my life as a professional artist. But before all that, I painted houses as a summer job while still in high school. Fast forward to my life in Copenhagen after completing Art School working as an animator and director in animated film, I won an national competition to paint a large mural: 145′ X 24′. I immediately fell in love with large scale Art. You see, I had plenty of experience painting from the years of being a house painter. Mix in Art school and working in animated film, I was on a tear. I did my first large scale mural back in 1989 and I continue to paint and enjoy the process of painting murals. I have more experience working on large surfaces than most, and I believe that sets me appart form others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would want to cook some really great meals at my home and visit the ocean as much as they could stand. I’m pretty chill, so I would see what they wanted to do and make it happen. I have a music room with a baby grand piano, guitars, bass, percussion, and most of my friends play, so we would be spending time there! And I would take them to my favorite spots along the Pompano Beach coast, where I live. Oceanic, Lucky Fish, The Beach House…

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To all fellow artists who hold free expression as the ultimate goal.
