We had the good fortune of connecting with Nilufer Bracco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nilufer, how does your business help the community?
At niluu, social impact isn’t an afterthought, it’s woven into every decision we make. Our garments are crafted by Serra Serra, a female-owned atelier in Turkey, meaning every purchase directly supports women artisans and fair-wage employment. We use Cupro, a biodegradable yarn made in Japan and ECOVERO™ fibers, which cut water usage and carbon emissions by up to 50% compared to conventional viscose. As a proud member of 1% for the Planet, we donate 1% of annual revenue to natural protection initiatives worldwide. Our entire product range is PETA-approved vegan and cruelty-free, with a fully traceable supply chain held to strict ethical and environmental standards. We believe luxury and responsibility aren’t opposites, niluu proves you don’t have to choose between feeling good and doing good.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets niLuu apart is that we didn’t add sustainability to our brand, we built the brand around it. Our yarn and fabrics are produced in closed-loop facilities, our garments are made at a women-owned atelier in Turkey, and as members of 1% for the Planet, every link in the chain is intentional.
The road wasn’t easy, and honestly, it still isn’t. Being both founder and creative director of a young brand means every morning brings its own set of challenges, and sometimes its own unexpected good news. It’s like jumping off a cliff and assembling the plane on the way down. There’s no roadmap, just instinct, resilience, and the willingness to figure it out as you go. You wear every hat at once, and learn to find energy in the chaos rather than be consumed by it. That tension, between the creative and the operational, between vision and survival is something every startup founder knows,
What I want the world to know is that luxury and conscience can coexist, that you can feel beautiful, indulgent, and responsible all at once. We have alternatives, better materials and better practices, and there’s no reason not to use them. I built niLuu around the belief that we can protect all living creatures and our planet without sacrificing beauty or quality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a workaholic and mom to three dogs, so my idea of showing someone a great time is less about packed schedules and more about the places that actually make me stop and exhale.

Faena Hotel is always the first stop — cocktails at the outdoor bar, take in the art and the energy. It sets the tone for everything. Before the week is out, we’re also coming back for a show at the Faena Theater. There’s nothing quite like it in Miami.

Michael’s Genuine in the Design District for lunch — consistently great food, effortlessly cool vibe. After, we wander the neighborhood not to shop, but to take in the architecture. Most people rush through it. We don’t.
Bal Harbour for a slow afternoon — lunch at Macoto and a cortado from the shop on the second floor. My version of a perfect pause.

Mandoline for dinner one night — warm, intimate, and the food is beautiful. Walrus Rodeo for something more fun and energetic. And at least one night at Jass Kitchen for Turkish food and live Turkish music. As someone from Turkiye this place feels like home.

And every evening, no exceptions — after the golfers leave, we walk the dogs at the Miami Beach Golf Course. Quiet, green, completely zen. My favorite part of any day.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
