We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolina Saenz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always been someone who values independence and creativity. I realized that I didn’t just want a job—I wanted to build something that reflected who I am and gave me the freedom to create, make decisions, and grow on my own terms.

Starting my business wasn’t just about becoming an entrepreneur; it was about turning my passions into a career while creating opportunities that aligned with my values. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has helped me become more resilient, adaptable, and confident. Looking back, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My career has always been driven by creativity, strategy, and building meaningful relationships. I studied abroad in Argentina, where I had the opportunity to work on international projects in countries such as France, the Netherlands, Chile, and Uruguay. Those experiences broadened my perspective and reinforced my belief that creativity is one of the most powerful tools for solving business challenges.

While I was still in college, I founded Caótica Producciones, a creative marketing agency focused on helping brands communicate with purpose through strategy, branding, and audiovisual production. Throughout the years, I built long-term relationships with clients by consistently delivering high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and understanding that successful marketing is about much more than creating beautiful content—it’s about creating results.

As the media landscape evolved and digital platforms democratized the way brands connect with audiences, I recognized a new opportunity. Because of the network and credibility I had built over the years, I naturally expanded into connecting businesses, creators, and strategic partners. Today, a significant part of my work involves creating valuable partnerships, business development, and connecting companies that can genuinely benefit from working together. I love being able to create opportunities where everyone wins.

At the same time, I’ve also been able to invest more time in building my personal brand as a content creator. Rather than seeing these as separate careers, I see them as complementary. Running a marketing agency gives me a deep understanding of what brands need, while creating content allows me to understand audiences firsthand. That combination has given me a unique perspective and has helped me create authentic collaborations that generate real value for everyone involved.

If there’s one lesson I’ve learned, it’s that careers don’t have to follow a straight line. Being willing to adapt, embrace change, and continuously learn has opened doors I never imagined. My goal has always been to build trust, create meaningful work, and leave every project better than I found it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

One of the things I love most about Miami is that it offers the perfect balance between an active lifestyle, incredible food, art, and nature. If my best friend came to visit for a week, I wouldn’t just want to show her the city’s landmarks—I would want her to experience Miami the way I do every day.

We’d start each morning with a Pilates or yoga class, or a workout at Equinox, followed by breakfast at Pura Vida or Crema Gourmet. Staying active is a big part of my lifestyle, and I think there’s no better way to start the day.

I also love art and culture, so we’d spend time visiting museums and, if there happened to be a performance while she was in town, I’d definitely take her to the ballet or another live performance.

Nature is another big part of who I am, so we’d spend a day at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. They’re two of my favorite places to disconnect, slow down, and enjoy a completely different side of Miami.

Miami has one of the best dining scenes in the country, so food would definitely be a big part of the itinerary. Some of my favorite restaurants are MILA, Mila Omakase, Casa Neos, Hidden, Sparrow Italia, Cipriani, Makoto, Maple & Ash, Sunny’s Steakhouse, Casadonna, and The Mexican. I’d also stop by The Villa Casa Casuarina (the former Versace Mansion) just for the atmosphere and architecture. And if we were there on a Sunday, brunch at The Setai would be a must—it’s one of my favorites because of the incredible variety of international cuisine.

I’d also plan a beach or pool day at Faena or the one Hotel. Spending a relaxing afternoon by the ocean is part of the Miami experience and one of my favorite ways to recharge.

Since wellness is such an important part of my life, we’d dedicate a day to self-care with contrast therapy, red light therapy, a sound bath, and other recovery experiences. I truly believe taking care of your body and mind is just as important as exploring a city.

I’d also include a movie night because I genuinely love going to the cinema. Sometimes the simplest moments become the most memorable.

To me, Miami is so much more than beaches and nightlife. It’s a city where you can begin the morning with a great workout, spend the afternoon surrounded by art or nature, enjoy world-class dining in the evening, and still make time to prioritize your well-being. That’s the Miami I’d want my best friend to experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I would first like to thank my mom. She has always believed in me and supported my dreams, especially when I made the decision that completely changed my life: moving abroad to study. She trusted me even when it meant I was leaving home, and without her support, I don’t think I would have had the courage to take that leap.

I’d also like to recognize my professors and mentors. Looking back, so much of my career started because of the relationships I built with them. They saw my potential, encouraged me to think bigger, and opened doors that I never imagined. While I was studying in Argentina, they supported me in creating my company, involved me in creative projects, and gave me opportunities to represent my university internationally. Thanks to them, I was able to work on projects and travel to countries like France, the Netherlands, Chile, and Uruguay. Those experiences completely changed my perspective and laid the foundation for the entrepreneur I would later become.

When I returned to Colombia, I was also fortunate to meet colleagues and clients who believed in my vision and gave me opportunities before I had years of experience. Their trust pushed me to keep growing and ultimately helped me build the business I have today. Looking back, I realize that every stage of my journey was shaped by people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
