We had the good fortune of connecting with Guy & Brenda Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Guy & Brenda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor in our success is how we approach our crystal art with authentic and loving intention. For us, this is a spiritual process. Our intention is to make art that carries the energies of love, courage, hope, nurturing, soothing, and many other energies of the healing kind. Its our dharma to make art that vibes high, means something powerful when its gifted, and most importantly, art that is an expression of pure love and is felt as such. This is one reason clients return again and again for special gifts for themselves and loved ones.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When we started this journey over 3 years ago, we both quit our jobs! We dove in and we have never looked back. At first we made 8 pieces of art using various mediums and natural crystals like quartz, amethyst, citrine and others. But we made them in a way we’ve never worked before. We have a process that is heart centered. This sets us apart!! Our process and how that process affects the end result is felt by our clients. You see, in addition to the creative/artistic aspect of our work, we also create in an energetically clean space, using affirmation, mantra and / or prayer through each of our creative phases. We see it as layering in good energies, love and positivity. Another aspect that sets us apart is that we create full descriptions of each of our pieces with the meaning of the design and the metaphysical meaning of every crystal used in the design and how it ties into the over all energy of the piece. We call it art with a purpose! These descriptions are so detailed that they can be from 1 to 4 pages of information. We can recall placing those first 8 framed pieces across our counter top, standing back and smiling. They felt so good and so full of love. We knew we were in an authentic space because they felt amazing. Immediately the ideas were flowing. Our excitement was off the charts! We made more pieces, booked events to show off our new concept, and created an online shop. Our first year was so hard. We didn’t always have what we needed to pay our bills or create more pieces. It was a constant shift of financial focus. Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul as they say. Year two was better. We gained momentum… it was a turning point. We continued to book art shows, events and craft shows. We sometimes worked until 2am to create as many pieces as possible for each event, hoping that more selection would increase interest. It did! Fast forward to today, completing our 3rd year in business. We now create pieces for specific purposes like our house blessing, heart healer, attracting abundance and wealth and many more. We’ve also been blessed with a waiting list for custom commissioned pieces and we’ve shipped our work to 20 different countries to date. Our efforts to expand our abilities and take our work to new levels is at an all time high! We feel we are truly working in our dharma! Creating purposeful art with intention is what we are meant to be doing! Have we made it big? No.. but that’s not our intention. Our intention is spread hope and love through art and that my friends is happening every day!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since we travel Florida and spend little time in one city, we can only mention some of our favorite places these art shows have introduced us to. Places like Wynwood, downtown Lauderdale, downtown Delray Beach, and downtown Lake Worth. These are places we would take our people to.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Love and blessings to all those we have experience on this path. Many many people have given us kindness and support in ways they’ve never dreamed they could. So for us, its a huge shout out to our fellow artists, clients, friends and family who supported us! Thank you all so very much!
