We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Initially is what corporate burnout and simply wanting more fulfillment out of my career, but although that was the catalyst the real thought was the idea of creating a safe, fun, non judgmental space that would help women to feel beautiful in everyday life. We never wanted to open a “hair salon”, we wanted a social spot that didn’t feel sterile and intimidating. Because: Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name And they’re always glad you came… 😉

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Partners Katie and Erica are the creative and business minds behind Just Blow It and the concept of Social Styling. At Just Blow It, we understand the stress and time it takes to get ready and we want to do it for you. Our styling studio offers professional blow drys, hair styling, makeup sessions, and a boutique with fashion forward accessories to finish off your look. Social Styling is the interactive “getting ready” process that we utilize in our studio. The most important aspect of Just Blow It is the upbeat, trendy and socializing culture allowing women to have fun, gain confidence, and leave looking and feeling beautiful. Our Mission: To provide a safe, fun, and non judgemental space that allows women to unwind, de-stress, and look fabulous while doing it. To offer our clients a quick and convenient way to obtain salon quality hair and beauty services without spending timeless hours and dollars for it. And because you don’t need a special occasion to feel special. Our Motto: “Just Blow It off and let us do it for you!” We are most proud of the Beauty Bus! A 33 foot RV transformed into the dreamiest, girliest place to get ready in. Talk about celebrity treatment– the Beauty Bus is your own person movie trailer BUT BETTER! The JBI Beauty Bus is completely stocked with everything you [and 10+ friends] need to get ready for a big day or night out. It is all self sustainable, no need to “plug it in” anywhere. Just tell us the time and place, and we’ll take care of the rest! And yes, we drive it ourselves too! I think we got to where we are today by being fair and honest. We provide quality services for a fair price that keeps everyone coming back! Nothing worth having comes easy! We certainly had plenty of failures, and yes it sounds cliche, but we learned from each and every one of them. There is no easy route. There is no book out there with all the answers. Even when you make the “right” decisions, there will likely be a wrench thrown in the mix somewhere. Our advice: keep learning, keep growing, and keep going.
