Meet Omar Bendezu: Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Omar Bendezu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Omar, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
At the beginning of Ondevan Campervan, as every entrepreneur, I worked really hard dedicating most of my free time to my business. However, I realized that it was affecting my health and relationships, I remember reading a quote at that time somewhere that said, “Run a business instead of letting the business run you”. It struck me when I read it because I was feeling that way and I actually was thinking of quitting the business in that period. But that realization made me rethink my business model and forced me to find balance in my life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ondevan Campervan, is a campervan rental company based in South Florida and we provide fully stocked and customized campers for roadtrip adventures across the US and Canada! Our key differentiator is our customer service, we pay extra attention to delight all our customers during the booking process, pick up and drop off. And proof of that, are our costumer reviews in Google and Facebook. And to achieve that it was not easy, we have taken lots of roadtrips to understand our customers better and how to make the roadtrip experience more enjoyable. We are passionate about our business and therefore we make sure our customers get all the information and assistance needed to make their roadtrip and an unforgettable experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like nature and Florida has a lot to offer. Definitely, I will take them to one of the Florida springs for camping! Another must spot will be The Everglades National Forest and for sure the Keys!
