We had the good fortune of connecting with Alce F and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alce, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It was a long process but the start of my business didn’t come from a single thought, It happened naturally. I had this song called “Go To Work” on my album. When I wrote it I didn’t intend for it to be a leading single, but the song grew legs of its own and took off. So many people connected to it, I was receiving messages and videos everyday of people telling me how motivating my song is. It embodied everything I wanted to be as an artist and influencer, go to work became my model for everything it was now my brand. From there I launched GTW Recordings and soon after came GTW Apparel. Being a business man is a new venture for me which bring new challenges. Its not easy but I love every part of it,
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I go by Alce F. Music artist, entrepreneur and business owner. I been in love with music my entire life, It went to another level when I started writing and creating music at the age of 14. When I got my first taste of performing on stage in front of an audience, I said to myself I want to do this for the rest of my life. However, the path to making it a reality has been nothing short of challenging. So many ups and downs, U-turns and road blocks, yes and noes, ALOT of noes lol. But that is what makes the journey so exciting. There isn’t a manual on how to become a successful music artist, there’s no class or course to take. You have to create your own course and trust in the process. I’ve been knocked off my course plenty of times and wanted to quit. Its about getting back on course and making adjustments. At the end of the day I want my story to influence others build and complete there course. I created my bran for the hopeless dreamer, everything is obtainable but first you have to “Go To Work”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is known for its diverse culture, Its a huge melting pot down here. So just know we going to eat good, everyday we going to a different island. My background is Haitian so first we’ll hit my favorite Haitian restaurant in North Miami called L’auberge. After eating some of the best food ever you might need a nap because we diving right in and hitting the strip club tonight. Miami is well known for having some of the best strip clubs around, You have to experience it yourself to understand. Depending on your vibe there’s alot of different clubs to choose from, some of my favorites are Play House, The Office, and Cheetahs. Choose one or all we have the whole week. After a long night we relax and recover the next day at the beach. We got the best weather all year around which make for some of the best beaches, and that brings out beautiful half naked woman so you cant go wrong. Just like the food and people the night life is very diverse, Wynwood is a dope art district area that has everything from bars, restaurants, and even art gallerias. You’ll see paintings and graffiti on every building and street corner and each has a story behind it. Great vibe for the night if your into that. If you want to experience the flashy lifestyle they always show you on tv then he hit south beach, Go to club Dream or Cameos. A good change of pace later in the week is to it up my Jamaican spot called Lallos. Good food, drinks, and music, very high energy. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I would like to shoutout my city Miami Dade County, Florida. Being from Miami really taught me how to hustle. Its a dog eat dog world out here especially in the entertainment business. In these streets either you become a great swimmer or your bound to drown, and I’ve seen alot of people around me go down in deep waters. Im grateful for all the life lessons I’ve learned while navigating through my city, Its made me stronger. I would also like to big up my peer group of creators and entrepreneurs. It can get very lonely when chasing a dream not many would pursue, people would tell me that my dreams are un-realistic and I should go to school and get a real career. Having peers that also have big dreams reminded me that I wasn’t crazy lol. Feeding off each other would motivate my drive and keep me going. In the same breath alot of people outside looking in would offer words of encouragement because they believe in my talent and respect my hustle and no quit attitude. Im thankful for my family because they trust my judgment and decision making. Being the second to youngest of 6 siblings it spoke volumes to how they support me. Lastly I want to recommend a book that helped me spiritually in a major way. Its called “The Way of the Superior Man” by David Deida. If your ready to take your mind, body, and soul to a higher level this book will guide you. I know im probably missing some credit due, so if you reading this shout out to you.
