We had the good fortune of connecting with Yael Magen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yael, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor that drives me, was taught to me by my spiritual teacher Karen Berg, director of the Kabbalah Centre, before she left this world. She said “remember you are just a messenger, sharing your energy, care and love with people”. I use this mantra before every reading I do. It keeps me humble and open as a channel for others. As a member of the teaching team of the Kabbalah Centre, my purpose is to share this wisdom to help others not for my own success. According to Kabbalah each one of us as a divine spark of the Light of the Creator (which is a force of sharing) and our greatest fulfilment comes to us when we are living our purpose which is to share that spark with others and to help others awaken that spark within themselves. My tool to help others is my connection to the angelic universe which can act as a tool of transformation for people who are inspired to find their spark and purpose.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I don’t believe anything sets me apart from others but my desire to grow to keep learning, to be open to new things shapes the way I am today. This quality keeps me inspired and passionate about what I do and that helps me professionally. Desire to keep challenging myself did not come to me naturally and was not easy at first. I had to overcome my limited understanding who I was. I had to discover all that I have within me that I can share with others. I had to learn to be open to both a new direction and to my inner voice. I had to let go of what I thought was expected of me and choose to open myself up. Through this shelf discovery process I learned that instead of focusing on who I am or what I am not, I need to focus my attention on others and to be there for the other person unconditionally. I learned that the condition to be who I am is to be open to the opportunities that comes my way and to treat others with love and an open heart. I chose the Kabbalah Centre and the tool of Angel card reading because it allows me to be a channel for others to find their calling and purpose in life and when I do that my life improves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would first go visit a major hotspot, Gratitude Café, a favorite coffee shop of mine in Beverly Hills. After enjoying a nice breakfast, we would drive down to the Santa Monica Pier and walk around the beach and the many stores around. From there, we will continue driving down the Pacific Coast Highway until we reach Malibu to enjoy the beautiful view of the clear blue waters of California. For lunch, we would drive towards Hollywood, for a variety of delicious and well known restaurants. Before the night ends, we will head to the Griffith Observatory to get the best view of the famous Hollywood sign and the bright stars in the sky. The rest of the week we will go on many hikes, such as in Runyon Canyon Park, and of course lets not forget shopping at the Grove and Century City Mall.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Karen Berg, Director of the Kabbalah Centre, helped me find my true life purpose. After Karen passed away, Monica Berg continues to inspire me personally and professionally. Monica Berg is the author of Rethink Love and Fear is Not an Option.
