We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Fair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world.” This quote is important because it reminds me to not take things personally when people don’t share the same vision as me. It also reminds me that people can accomplish anything with the power of vision and belief.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Yoga, Mermaids, and Mimosas is a Sunday morning beach class welcome to all people and levels of practice. Class takes place every Sunday at 11 am on the beach at B Ocean Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. We practice yin yoga which is a more passive style of yoga involving deep stretching. After the yoga class, there is a tasty brunch with a live mermaid show inside the hotel. Mixing yoga and brunch is currently a pretty hot concept but the mermaid show is what kicks this yoga/brunch class up another level. I also happen to be one of the performers in the MeduSirena swimshow so sometimes I go straight from teaching yoga to performing as a mermaid for Mermaids & Mimosas.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For sure the MeduSirena Swimshow at the Wreck Bar in Fort Lauderdale for entertainment. I love La Santa Taqueria in Miami for tacos. Runas Peruvian Cuisine in Hollywood is super legit too and the building has a really cool history. I also love taking people to Yellow Green Market in Hollywood. Osme Perfumery in Wynwood is amazing with a really incredible selection and the owners are so nice and knowledgeable. South Florida is full of so many amazing places and people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to Big Brother Big Sister of Broward. My Little and I were matched 6 years ago and it has been such a rewarding and humbling experience. BBBS is definitely making a difference in the community and I highly recommend working with them as a Big. So here’s a big and respectful shoutout to Big Brother Big Sister of Broward!
