We had the good fortune of connecting with Darnisha Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Darnisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business were factored on three values that are important to me. Those values are impact, time and growth. For me, It is very important to make an impact in what I do and every day I get to inspire, uplift and enhance the beauty of both men and women through the gift of styling their hair, vlogging on my YouTube channel and through books that I have written. Time is so important and I when starting my business I wanted to be in charge of my time and how I choose to spend it. As a creative/entrepreneur I get the opportunity to explore, travel, spend as much time as I choose with my family and work from any place that I’d like to. Starting my business, I recognized and understood that the ladder for growth is endless. There are so many opportunities to grow and become better in every way and I’m proud that I stepped out and started my business because I get to bask in the fruit of these three values daily.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I attending the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fl majoring in and receiving my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. After graduating I decided to focus my career on a different path that I was also passionate about. I am so proud of myself for believing and stepping out to start my business. I didn’t always feel the support from many close to me but I didn’t allow that to stop me and play it safe because I knew what God told me and called me to do. This journey has been far from easy but I can say that it has definitely been worth it. Everytime I look back at the past year, I see growth and I’m genuinely happy doing what I do. On this journey I have truly learned that the sky is the limit. If you want something, it’s already yours. Time just hasn’t caught up yet. What is like the world to know about me and my brand is that it started with a vision and faith. Then it was written on paper and I believe and spoke it until it happened and I am here today because of that vision. My business and brand is an example of my heart for people. I want to inspire, uplift and enhance everyone I come in contact with and I have a desire to grow continuously.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Id my best friend came to town to visit me, A Few of my favorite spots we would visit are Mr. and Mrs, Crab or king Cajun. seafood is always a good idea. BB kings if you’re up for some live soul music and dancing. Disney world and universal are always a good idea. We would skip on over to city walk and grab some of the best cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon. For a quiet relaxing time. We will chill out at lake eola

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to take this moment to thank you Dance teacher “Traci Young-Byron”. Through her, I was able to witness, be introduced to and understand the importance of having an education, the significance of giving back, the faith to start a business and be successful at it and to always be simply me.
