We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariana Umana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In life, when you don’t risk anything, you don’t win. When you take a risk, you understand the value of goals and how hard sometimes it may be to attain it. Each risk we take in life gets us closer to what we want to be. So even if we may fail in the process, in reality, we learn in part because of the risk we took. One of the biggest risks I have ever taken is moving to The United States without knowing what the future would bring. Today, I can say, that although that has not been the only risk that I have had to take, it’s certainly been one of the most important I have taken.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that people underestimate the power of social media and influencers. In today’s world, there’s a great need to communicate and connect with people that might be in the same or a similar situation and are looking for guidance on how to navigate that specific aspect of their life. One of the most challenging aspects of being a social media influencer or blogger is to truly understand that each and every one of us has a unique set of skills to showcase to the world. When we are real and authentic and stay true to our values, we will be able to achieve anything we want in the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take them to West Palm Beach and explore Worth Avenue, City Place, and of course the beach. In addition, I would take them to ‘Pura Vida’, which is one of my favorite places to have breakfast or lunch. For dinner, I would definitely take them to ‘Planta’; a vegetarian and plant-based restaurant. Lastly, I would take them to Mizner Park in Boca Raton, to take a stroll around the different shops and restaurants around the area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I dedicate this shoutout to my mother. From an early age, my mom gave me the tools to achieve anything I set my mind to. In addition, she gave me the confidence to believe that all of my dreams were within my reach if I work hard enough to get them.
