We had the good fortune of connecting with Noni Night and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noni, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Covid-19 recently threw its hardest blow at society. A lot of individuals were tossed out of work because of this pandemic, including myself. What was I to do?! Wait… I can finally put my goals into actions. Almost two years before this moment, I stood in the faces of the language department of my university, completely impressed by the public speech I created on my final presentation. “Now that you’re graduating,” They asked, “what’s next?” I told them I wanted to be an energy healer; yet, after that point I went on a raging job search for a career that wasn’t at all what I told them I’d pursue.
Two years later, it’s almost as if the world had stopped so that I can finally pick up what I had intended on doing for a long time. I created my business Nonna because I knew the time was right for me to show the world what holistic healing can do. I wanted to guide people, help them, heal them even, and I wanted to show them an approach that they can understand the most-the undervalued power of the self in a life that appears so normal.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Nonna is an organization meant to guide one into healing the mind, the body, and the spirit (or energetic form of the “self”). I put quotations around self because once a being can understand their energy exists, they can also see that it isn’t just about THEIR energy. It is about how we all interact with one another, and how that affects our response system from a very scientific chemical reaction, to a very deep-rooted mental response. Through Nonna I write blogs to share different perspectives on life, I speak on YouTube to motivate and teach those who are willing to hear about practical advise that no one teaches in schools, self motivation, so we can become a better version of ourselves all the time, and the metaphysical or paranormal world, to show people that they don’t have to be afraid of the unknown, formally described as “dark and evil”.
These platforms of knowledge are at least where I started. Then I realized there is so much more that I can give. Motivating the self is hard enough. What if I assumed the role as a guide? So I did. That is really where Nonna took on a business role.
Through Nonna, I offer ways to guide people through my own metaphysical methods. Do people have to believe in what I do? No! I live in the bible belt where people question why I carry stones in my pocket. Having an alternative healing business can be quite the challenge for those who think I want to do anything but help them find their own power. But I have learned that in order for my guidance and healing to work, they do have to want to believe in themselves.
I want the world to know that you don’t have to believe in a certain deity, diet, or path of life in order to want holistic healing. You have needs. You have desires to be somewhere, to do something, and there are times where you may feel thwarted or stuck. I created my business to help you in those difficult moments to help you see a way out. I’m not the answer. I am here to show you that YOU are the solution and the reason why! You Deserve Better!
I’m most proud of the way people feel after an energy healing session, a tarot guide session, or even a meditation session. It never fails, they always have a face of disbelief, and peace of mind. They always tell me how great they feel afterwards, as if I gave them their second wind. I’m excited to see more of those faces, as well as what people do with their lives as after they give alternative healing with me a try.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Let’s say my best friend came to Atlanta to visit. My first instinct would be to take them out of the city! I would start the morning out in nature at good ol’ Amicalola Falls, for a breath taking hike, and a refreshing view of the waterfall. Then we’d clean up, and have lunch at my favorite Italian spot, Provino’s. The next day, we would have an afternoon ride on kayaks down the Chattahoochee River. How Relaxing! After getting a little dirty, I’d brush it off and insist on a picnic in Piedmont Park, because the year-long events are magnificent. I would drag them to my favorite Indian Restaurant, Mint Leaf, and treat us to a spa day. We would then visit the art museum, the aquarium for kicks, and end our week dancing in a latin club. Speaking of latin, there is a Latin American Restaurant called Mojave that has out of this world cuisine. Our week would be well balanced between the city life and the country setting, because it helps to be a versatile being! I may have been born in the city, but I was raised by the country. These two worlds have opened my mind to two different worlds, that are pursuing the same things.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my mentor, my sister, my best friend Sharita. She contributed tremendously to the person I am, and the path I chose for myself. She showed me the strengths I have, and taught me that there are endless opportunities that I can put my energy into. A shout out to my mother, who believed in the entrepreneur, go-getter spirit that I have. She always believed that no matter what I go through, success will always follow.
I would also like to give a shout out to two popular You-Tube Speakers Aaron Doughty and Conjure Queen. Both speakers are so impactful emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Both mentors have challenged me as well as the rest of their audience to never take their words at face value, but instead to do their own learning, and teaching so that they can make a change for those around them. I am truly inspired by those who encourage you to be your own student, and challenge yourself in more ways than one. Because of these leaders, I inspire to be wise, nurturing, and discerning for those I impact.
