We had the good fortune of connecting with Saphira Greenberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saphira, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I saw that there were almost no women manufacturing salon professional hair care products. Although the majority of the target audience is women, it is men who seem to control the beauty industry. I also wanted to introduce something new to the world of hair care, a healing hair care line infused with the 26 Dead Sea minerals.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I studied Positive Psychology and was working with an organization called Strong Women Strong Girls in creating empowerment programing for young girls at risk. At the same time I was always fascinated with the Beauty industry! I noticed that there were very few women who had their own brand in the hair industry or brands who were passing female empowerment message. In 2012 I decided to take my wedding money and create my Professional Mineral Hair Care Brand, Saphira. Saphira uses 26 Minerals from the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth. The Minerals are so healing that women who have itchy/ dry scalps claim that it has disappeared using Saphira products. Saphira is distributed now in over 50 countries! I definitely got to where I am today because of my amazing supportive team and people I have met along the way. Always keep an open mind and a listening ear. Business is never easy. You rise and then fall but remember be resilient, and keep the dream clear in your mind even when it gets hazy! Saphira is a mineral healing hair care line made with 26 minerals, natural ingredients, 100% Vegan, Sulfate and Cruelty Free!
The brand is focused on doing good for the community, and gives back each month 10% to a variety of charities.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am grateful to my husband, Aviad Greenberg, who grew up in the beauty industry and supported me throughout and agreed with me to take our wedding money to begin Saphira LLC. I also want to thank my parents, Aviva and Joel Tessler for their unwavering support and who also joined my company.
