We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Duran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I was out of high school the Name “Plenty” popped in my head. I always had a knack for fashion and thought if I ever opened a store I would call it “Plenty.” I ended up working at a boutique called “Detour” in Las Vegas famous fashion show mall and learned so much, then ended up getting a job at “Scoop NYC’ in the Ceasar’s Forum Shops and dressed many celebrities. One of my regulars was Jamie Presley. I ended up leaving there and going to Neiman Marcus and had a million dollar book by my first year. I always thought I sell tees for over $100 I know I could do this and open a store with similar looks at more affordable costs.

What should our readers know about your business?
“Plenty” is a boutique where you really have a mix of everything. We carry so many one of a kind Jewelry Pieces from “Delia Grace” which my husband also happens to be the designer. We do in house styling and are known for our “Magic” shirt and carry a huge variety of the famous “Spanx” clothing and shape wear. We have been in business over 12 years. “Plenty” is all about comfort, style with its own uniqueness. instagram @deliagracejewels *if you want to add.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am outside of Austin in cute little town called “Marble Falls” this place is so dreamy. If my sister was in town I would take her to breakfast at the famous “Blue Bonnet Cafe.” After we would go to “Mojos Coffee” grab an espresso pick some flowers at “Sweet Berry Farm” and come hope change into our swimsuits from Plenty and go on the lake for a few hours. Head to eat lunch at “Raes Grill” and order my fav Spicy Pico Mary. The end of the night get dressed up and head to “Brass Hall” for some live music or Karaoke.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be here with out my amazing husband who has always supported my endeavors and Dee who is one of the most fashionable ladies I know and who I learned the biz from when I worked at my first boutique. Diane Von Furstenberg has always been my designer inspiration.
