We had the good fortune of connecting with Evgeniya Ignatushchenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Evgeniya, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I never really had a thought for starting my own business, my main drive was doing what I love the most and making living out of it. I started as a freelancer visiting clients with newborns that can’t leave their house for beauty essential needs. Word of mouth was my biggest advertising. I made a name for myself as someone who was good and fast. So at some point I figured there was a huge demand out there for at home services that required a quick and good job done, and financial part of it wasn’t an issue. Nail Patrol was born and I was the only member on the team patrolling all over Miami. One day I realized that I can’t handle all the jobs coming to me and I never wanted to be that nail tech that doesn’t take new clients anymore. Nail Patrol added 3 new team members and a concierge that handles booking over the phone.
Pandemic definitely helped us grow even bigger, giving jobs to many professionals. Now Nail Patrol has 32 beauty pro contractors with a 1200+ client base, patrolling all over South Florida from Homestead to Deerfield Beach.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
You might see out there a lot of beauty apps that deliver services to clients, that have it all – hair, makeup, nails, massages, etc.. Nail Patrol is a one of a kind app – we specialize in all nail services. Original idea of Nail Patrol was to deliver essential routine only – mani-pedis and gel polish, but now we offer it all – from basic nail fix to acrylic and gel extensions with nail art.
Of course it was never easy to grow the company, we’ve always had ongoing challenges – the biggest one was to keep the balance between client demand and nail tech availability. Pandemic definitely helped with the demand, however onboarding takes time and energy.
The biggest lesson I’ve learnt along the way is to never stress about things I can’t control. The bigger we grow – the more stressful it gets, but if I let all of it get to me – I won’t be able to make decisions. Sometimes I have to give up a little on smaller issues to focus on a bigger picture.
Well, to finalize it all – Nail Patrol is an on demand nail service that is available same day or next day. We service Miami residents and guests for all their nail needs, here are some other cools things that we offer:
couple services
group bookings
in office manicures
hospital visits
boat/yacht visits
bachelorette/baby showers
kids parties
birthday celebrations
moms days in
gift certificates
and much more!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a travelling nail technician – I see a lot of interesting and cool places around I want to visit, but as a 24/7 business owner – I never really have time to go. However, every time I get to stop at Wynwood for a service call – I try to set some time to walk around the streets and stop for a lunch at some of the local spots. Wynwood has been very popular for tourist attraction lately as it offers a variety of things to do for locals and visitors – from craft bars and restaurants to artsy sightseeing and dancing venues. Mister o1 Extraordinary is my #1 place for pizza, Bakan restaurant is great if you like fine dining and craft cocktails, and Coyo Taco is my all time favorite place for delicious and quick served tacos.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I highly recommend Luke Amoresano, an owner of Luke Skybuilder LLC, very hard working, dedicated, and helpful to people with the right attitude.
