We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Deschamps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, how do you think about risk?
I view it as the door between you and success and or a learning experience. I find it necessary to be able to take risks in order to grow as a person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A little bit about me is that I majored in Business Administration in college and my goal was to work in the Banking/Finance industry.

I had landed several internships in reputable banks, and it truly was an amazing experience to have accomplished that goal I had set my mind to. However, during the times I had a break in between internships, I always got on a plane and traveled solo abroad.

Traveling became one of my passions. To me, it’s such a great experience to be able to get out of your comfort zone, become more open-minded, indulge in a new culture, meet new people, and learn more about yourself. Which is exactly what happens when you travel solo.

I visited a few countries in Europe back in 2018, and at the time I remember several friends and family members suggesting I started a travel blog to document my experiences abroad. At first, I thought I couldn’t do it, but then one day in May 2020, I finally created a website with the intention of creating a blog, and I changed my social media to reflect only travel content.

I started a blog during a time where traveling had basically stopped for much part of the world, but that didn’t stop me from creating content. I was already determined to do it, so instead, I decided to share my experiences from my past trips and then spin it off to becoming a lifestyle blogger as well. It has only been a year since I started this journey and I’m very proud of myself for having been able to accomplish so much in so little time. As of now, I’ve had several paid partnerships with major brands, and I have received so many messages from connections (followers) I’ve made along the way about how they really like my content and the positivity I share every day.

I just want people to know that no matter how daunting a goal may seem you should always go for it, and get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually have a list for that! I’m a big foodie and I love taking pictures so most of the places listed below are restaurants or little cute cafes that seem “instagrammable” . Besides that, I would also encourage seeing Miami from the ocean I would totally suggest renting a yacht at @Getmyboat and possible jet skiing as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I love reading books and a book that really got me to where I am now is the book called “The Go-giver by Bob Burg.

This books teaches a powerful business idea that if you want to be successful you must add value to others, the book talks about the power of giving and once I implemented that in my daily work it has truly made a difference over time.
