We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Pistorio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I love this question as it plays a ton into what I stand for in my brand. I left my job I knew for seven years, to fulfill our goal and my dream of raising our daughter full time. With that, I know that staying at home full time can lead to parents falling into the same daily routine, and I still wanted to keep my passions alive which is fashion, creativity, networking and meeting people, and sharing my love for motherhood and lifestyle. Being able to pursue this creative blogging avenue full time has given me the outlet to fulfill my goals and dreams all while raising our daughter full time, and giving her the example that you can do anything you put your mind to!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart is I try to always be my authentic self. I think it’s important to always laugh at yourself, and you’ll catch a lot of me doing that in my daily story chats. I’m most proud of where I’m at today. Blogging and being in social media is still so new to some people, they scratch their heads when you tell them what you do. It hasn’t always been easy, a lot of people think it’s just logging on, getting a quick picture, writing up a caption and you’re good to go. It’s more than 40 hours a week of meeting deadlines, networking with others, building new relationships, being the photographer, the editor, the lawyer reading over contracts, the best deal finder, ect. When I chose to do this I of course had people doubt, but if there’s one thing I share to any new blogger, it’s to never listen to the ones who doubt, if you are passionate about it, and excited about it, then go for it! The only one you need approval from is yourself! I hope anyone that visits any of my platforms leaves my page with a smile on their face!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well in Orlando, there’s always something to do! We’d definitely stop by Boxi Park in Lake Nona, for a lobster roll or burger and a spicy margarita! THE BEST. We definitely would have to do one night at Disney Springs. The shopping and restaurants there are so good! Since my bestie has kids, we’d make our way over to the Brevard Zoo one of the days, That’s one of mine and my daughter’s favorite spots to visit!! And last but not least, maybe brunch at Hampton Social or Canvas, two of my favorite spots for drinks and food!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband! I will never forget our conversation about two weeks before I was to head back to work after maternity leave, when he said “why don’t you start a blog”. He knew I loved sharing outfits, and on social media and was the one to not only push me to start it as a hobby on the side, but helped me build up my blog from scratch. He to this day, comes along on partnerships and helps me catch all of my creative ideas as they come to me! He is an amazing support system for all of my crazy goals and dreams!
