We had the good fortune of connecting with Alessandra Brochu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alessandra, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Self Sacred was created on the foundations on all forms of Holistic Wellness which includes mental and spiritual wellness. My goal is to give back to the community while promoting Holistic wellness. Since before Self Sacred was created, I was dedicated for years to give back to organizations such as Kristi house and other foundations focused on children. Now that Self Sacred has begun flourishing, it gives me the opportunity to continue to be of service to Kristi house and others in a bigger and more impactful way. I plan on holding yearly fundraising events for organizations focused on families and children as well as drives each year to gather supplies for those in need.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Self Sacred is founded on the ideals and principles on all forms of Holistic Health/Wellness as well as mental and spiritual wellness for children. Our goal is to expand the minds and hearts of young ones to explore fundamentals of life that embrace the discovery of themselves and others.

We offer classes based on overall Holistic Health/Mental Wellness which include Yoga, Mindfulness & Meditation. These classes contain many aspects of learning and discovery for children’s growth such as, STEAM learning, SEL learning, grounding, breathwork, fine/gross motor skills, social and communication skills, health & body image, language development, freedom of expression, working with elements in nature, self-esteem, group/solo work, memory, strength & flexibility, working with the arts, coping tools, and SO much more.

We offer spiritual workshops which also help to open minds and souls to other forms of self discovery such as Chakras and the introduction of these Chakra points. We will also offer an Herbalism workshop to introduce the amazing power of plants and how they can help our bodies and health.

I realized from an early age that there was no place where I could express myself and learn about ways to cope with anger, stress, and anxiety. I longed for a place where I could be free, learn life skills, create friendships and connection. To understand life outside the regular school format.

I wanted to have a space where I could connect with my world, with nature and with myself. Creating Self Sacred gives that opportunity to others. With Self Sacred I can offer growing children and little ones new doors to explore themselves, and the world. With Self Sacred I can help create healthy minds that can express freely and openly.

Self Sacred can give the opportunity for children to learn about who they are in the world. Parents can learn coping skills to everyday problems such as anxiety, everyday stress, life lessons, and more for their children, family and even themselves. With classes that stretch and diversify from kindness and community to Botany and Chakras.

This road was not easy and even today there are bumps. Starting a business from scratch is scary and building it up and putting yourself out there is a risk. I just push forward and after a lot of running towards and then away from my dream, I decided it was now or never to jump in and start. I know there will be struggles in the future but I know with determination I can handle them all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a big foodie and nature girl. Most of my time revolves around that. My go to places for some quality time with nature would be Fairchild Botanical garden, Vizcaya Museum & gardens, and one of my favorite places Cauley Square Historic Village in Homestead.

As for food, the list will be as long as this interview. My favorite spots in Miami would be The Tea Room, Earls in Dadeland mall, Shibui Japanese restaurant, Cheeseburger Baby, Hungry bear, and Komodo!

Living in miami, I love the beach. I’d definitely be there as well with my best friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to take this opportunity to thank my mom. She has been there for me in every step of my journey. Pushing me and encouraging me to go for my dreams. Thank you for teaching me to never give up and keep climbing.
