We had the good fortune of connecting with Amelia E. Faggétt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amelia E., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Having a special needs child really detoured my thinking. With much prayer and guidance from other leaders aim my life, I decided to step out and start not only one business but multiple businesses including becoming an author. I was very nervous starting out. That negative mindset was really beating me up and thinking about what others might say about me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Becoming the better version of myself has definitely been a journey. In my life, I have dealt with depression and putting too much energy into what others thought of me. I never wanted to be seen or heard. When I started to journal and increase my prayer life things began to open up for me. Speaking to people and standing in front of the room was a huge challenge for me. My mind shifted into the positive that I subjected my mind to with reading positive books, listening to positive quotes and audios.

Through my journey I have learned to not care so much what other people think. People will always have something to say no matter who you are.

Through my journal Journey I was inspired to not only help other women that have dealt with depression or mental health issues, but to start Virtuous Thoughts which is a faith-based organization geared towards the journey to wisdom for women. Virtuous Thoughts is an umbrella for additional business areas such as TheHomeschoolCoach, Journey in Unity ( special needs parent coaching) with the inclusion of my E-Book , Life with a Special Needs Child. Journey to Wisdom guides woman through journaling and allowing women to dig into themselves. On Clubhouse we connect with many people from all over using Journal for Growth E-Book that’s newly released.

Now I have more excitement that helps me to vent and release is my essentials of creating journals, soaps, body butters and more coming soon from my new business line , Virtuous Thoughts Essentials.

After years of being that shy woman, the single parent with a special needs child, who would have thought I could own multiple businesses, homeschool, and have enough faith to marry again to a supportive respectful Godly man.

One thing I have learned is not to allow others to take up my time. What is important to me becomes important to others. Making people respect my time has been one of the most difficult things I had to learn and overcome yet it’s become rewarding mentally.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The funny thing about me is that I’m a home body. I love to relax with a good movie or and oldie tv series. When I do get out , I would a road trip is my playground. As a Cali girl with an old soul and southern ways, my energy can be a little confusing, lol. You may find me at a restaurant eating Italian food, Mexican food , or soul food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a loving shoutout to my husband Derrick L. Faggétt. He always pushes me to be the better version of myself. My father Bruce Moragne that has passed away always told me to finish what you start.
