Meet Diego Jhazs | Singer songwriter, musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Diego Jhazs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diego, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been into music and art, since I’m a little kid. I remember singing my favorite’s bands songs over and over again while I was in kindergarten. I took the decision to pursue an artistic career because music is what makes my heart pumped, it transcend the meaning of passion, It’s more like a lifestyle

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I make music to express feelings, to connect with my higher self and the purpose of my life. I’m proud of myself for every decision I made, they led me to where I am now. Even in the days of doubt I keep believing in what I do, I think that’s key for a successful life. I’m so excited for what it’s ahead!. I started my musical career at the age of 14. I used to sing jazz’s standards in my beginnings but when I turn 20 I knew I wanted to make original music, write songs and create. That’s how I decided to take my career to the next step and learn how to play instruments

I traveled to the city of Los Ángeles in April 2018 and started to sing on the trains and streets there, busking was my job. Thanks to that I got the opportunity to play in many bars and festivals there.

I went back to Buenos Aires to enroll to the Conservatory of music and got better on my craft while Covid was happening. Now I got the chance to come to Miami for a couple months to get inspired and meet new people, I’m loving it here!.

A musical career takes time to evolve, ups and down are inevitable, so I’m trying to accept it and enjoy the process.

I learnt so many lessons in my life and there’re so many to be learn, but, to highlight a few: ‘Patience and consistency is key for succes’, ‘Every chapter in life might end, so let’s practice to be aware of the present moment and enjoy it fully!’ ‘ Anyone and anything will make you truly happy but you’.

I’m a human being who decided to pursue what makes me happy in life, and doing so comes a feeling of freedom. I encourage you to do the same

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would probably take him to South Point in Miami Beach, that’s such a magical spot, different from everything else in the city. I would also go to Key West for a couple days, I love it there. As nightlife concerns, Brickell is a good option.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
