We had the good fortune of connecting with DaJon Nash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DaJon, how do you think about risk?
For me, risk taking meant taking that leap of faith. Although Michigan is home, I knew my passion would lead me to bigger and better things.

A family member offered me an opportunity for a fresh start in Atlanta. Unfortunately, we had a family dispute which caused me to think about my next move. From there, I began to intern at the Ivy showroom which fueled my passion for styling again. In addition, I took styling courses from celebrity stylist D.rushing.

This opened doors for me to style my god-brother on a Sephora campaign. I made it my mission to make sure Celebrity knew who I was. With the help of my friend promoting my personal shopper page (IG: LavontheShopper) and the rest is history.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is being a visionary, creating extraordinary looks looks for my clients. One thing that will always set me apart from others is getting insight from television shows and strolling around the city for inspiration on how to create the perfect look for the customer. I am most proud of what I’ve accomplished thus far, starting my luxury street wear line, styling for a well known celebrity, and styling for a documentary that raises awareness for cancer. My journey was not easy, I would never get much recognition for styling in fashion shows and there was a lack of opportunity for my art in the city i once resided. I overcame the challenges by trying to break the barriers, reaching out and networking with potential clients to make a name for myself. I would not let one no discourage me from being the stylist I’m destined to be. Lessons I’ve learned along the way; be consistent, be true to who you are, never second guess about your passion as it can confuse your process of creativity. You should always keep an updated portfolio, fashion resume , contracts with your clients , build relationships and network events as much as possible. i want the world to know Da’Jon Nash has come from humble beginnings while also hitting the ground running and don’t mind getting my hands dirty. I’m over comer and over achiever, fashion is not just a regular job to me it’s something i eat sleep and breath.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So me and my good gworl would head to The Garden Room and start with this amazing drink called the “Bend + Snap” paired with a Chilean sea bass. Next, we’d head next door to the St. Regis Bar for more cocktails and conversation.

From there, we end up at this cute little lounge for the gworls called Blue for more drinks and hookah then we headed to the roof top (laughs)!!!

Next day, we’d hit up the trail at Stone Mountain Park and then head to brunch at Toast on Lennox. Shopping at Lennox mall and Phipps plaza is a must for the gworls along with heading to the Shops of Buckhead.

After shopping and brunch, we hitting up downtown to the Red Booth cigar lounge, to meet some sexy singles.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My god brother Darnell has been a source of inspiration for me. I’ve always admired his eye for beauty at a young age. He’s always pushed and encouraged me to do my personal best. He has given me multiple opportunities to grow and develop my business. Without my god brother Darnell, I would not be where I am today.
