We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisabeth Ayres and Cedar Cloyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisabeth and Cedar, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is an interesting word to describe Cedar and my (Elisabeth) journey. When we quit our comfortable, well-paying jobs three years ago to pursue our joint passion for music, we had no idea if we would be successful. But what we did have was faith in ourselves.

Faith that we will get ourselves to where we want to go. That’s where I think risk coincides with aspiration. To do anything outside the norm in this life, you must create your own path. Yes, that cliché path. Aspiring for something greater, you must risk everything for it. Burn all the boats behind you and have faith in yourself. If you prepare and don’t take such a life-changing risk on a whim, the only real risk is: will you have enough faith in yourself to make it?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Course Control is a brand that resonates heavily with Liz and me. We created the name Course Control when we were both working for fortune 100 companies during the day and headlining insane 500+ capacity nightclubs on the weekends. We would leave the weekend feeling uplifted, but the work week felt draining.

Our future was laid out for us. Who would be crazy enough to completely shift from full-time careers and give up a lucrative job for a dream? The answer is us, we are crazy enough.

Together, we decided that our true potential in this life could only be realized if we took control of our course and did not let societal norms dictate our direction. Thus, Course Control was born. A universal representation of the control we all individually desire in our life. As we continue to build and strengthen our brand, we want to inspire others to recognize the control they have over their own individual course.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
VEGAS BABY! Your plane lands as you admire the glow from the strip. Your heart rate quickens in anticipation, ready to be part of the glitz and glam. But these are the best clubs in the world, where do you go?

Oh don’t worry friend, we got you.

First, you wake up. Then make your way to the Wynn or Bucchanel buffet. After a full stomach, go grab your bathing suit because it’s day club time! Make your way to Ayu, Marquee, Encore, Drai, or Daylight beach club. Depending on the artist playing, you’ll find a club to fit your vibe. Then around 4 PM, it’s time for a power nap.

Rest, rehydrate, and recover. Do you hear that bell? Yeah, it’s dinner time. There are roughly 100 top-notch, 5 stars, 10 thumbs up, gold stars in kindergarten, and restaurants to pick from. Good luck in picking.
Boom, Boom, Utz, Utz. It’s nighttime in Las Vegas. Where the f*** do you go? A lot of the clubs in the day also have night swims. But let’s be honest, you’re here for Hakkasan, Omnia (our favorite), XS, or the newcomer Zouk. No matter the choice, enjoy the pulsing music, the people watching, the price of alcohol, and a night you hopefully won’t forget.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to our friends in Seattle, to the new family we made in Las Vegas, and to our real families. Our friends and family were the first people at our shows and the first ones to encourage us to follow our dreams. That support and love are fundamentally important to our story and who we were. Thank you to those special people in our life. We love you!
